Is the mystery solved in the first season of the Messiah TV show on Netflix? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Messiah is cancelled or renewed for season two. Netflix and other streaming platforms, however, collect their own data. A Netflix suspense thriller TV series, Messiah stars Mehdi Dehbi, Tomer Sisley, Michelle Monaghan, John Ortiz, Melinda Page Hamilton, Stefania LaVie Owen, Jane Adams, Sayyid El Alami, Fares Landoulsi, and Wil Traval. The show chronicles the modern world’s reaction to a man who first appears in the Middle East. Al-Massih (Dehbi) creates a groundswell of international followers around him when he claims to be the eschatological return of ‘Isa (Jesus). Has he been sent by God or, is he a dangerous fraud who’s bent on dismantling the world’s geopolitical order?

3/26/20 update: Netflix has cancelled Messiah so, there won’t be a second season.
The best of the best. Unforgettable. The best thing I have seen on any kind of screen for decades, maybe ever. On every level outstanding – production quality, concept, storytelling, dialogue, acting, casting. This is begging to be extended into at least one additional season – please!! This film asks deep, highly relevant questions in this world of ours today. Mehdi as Messiah and Tomer Sisley as Avi are both amazing and deserve every award in the book. Loved it. Like the political spin and it really addresses the current state of culture and choices.
At first in seeing or even learning about it’s title, “The Messiah”, I was skeptical, and still am, due to its abrupt end of season, but intrigued. Knowing the bible and how Jesus’s is to return conflicts it’s reality of the show, yet leaves you with am eye opener as to how Jesus in earlier times was percieved in contrast to modern times. Although, the show appreciatingly, and understandably states it is fatictious, one can’t help to want to know it’s outcome. Which what a good movie provides. Absolutely loved it. We are extremely disappointed that a season 2 hasn’t been decided upon. It is a very addictive series and Netflix absolutely needs to write a season 2 and 3. If you need help with the story line, let me know. I have a sequel to Game of Thrones if you are interested. I call it “Dragons”. The premiere begins with Drogon carrying Daenerys body back across the Dothraki sea to an island where the Dragons came from. Amazing, acting and storyline, makes you think. The Christian faith says there will be a false prophet and messiah at the end, before Jesus comes in the sky for all to see , so S2 could go there. Nominations needed for the leads!
Messiah is one of the best shows I have found so far. I have now watched every episode twice hoping a new season is to come.

Loved this story. Great concept. Great writing. Great acting. Cannot wait for season 2.
It truly is a must see. It is brilliantly casted, acted, there is action, international stuff with governments…CIA…etc, but most of all, an extremely intriguing plot. You’ll see. Don’t take anyone’s word on it (which I think, is one of the takeaways), watch it and you’ll see.
The Messiah is such a great series and is one of my reasons I stay subscribed to Netflix. I need season 2, etc. Do not cancel this program. Recently a ton of people have been talking about this series and I know many more are eager to watch since I completed it in 1 day. I was glued.
Loved the Messiah series, especially the first few and the last several. The whole premise is fascinating and highly relevant in today’s world. You find yourself rooting for both sides. The ending was especially outstanding! Can’t wait for next season!
I hope they bring us season 2! I couldn’t explain it better. I went back and forth through out the chain of events.
I did as well!!! Especially towards the end when I was questioning was he really just a terrorist and had us all fooled!!
