The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

This is a real shame! I loved the show, and the characters were just starting to “gel”. This show deserves another chance!
I love this show, I cannot believe they are going to cancel it. Great actors, great story lines etc. Another example of good shows not being given a chance..
I LOVED this show! I even record it if I am not free at the moment. It has substance, a great cast, good story lines, and has a great flow. Maybe CBS didn’t do its homework putting the word out about the show, marketing it, etc. I believe huge numbers would like it and tune in if they knew of the show, and had a chance to experience it. Please give it another opportunity to succeed!
I love Miami Medical…The cast is truly talented and the storylines are real enough…The time slot is awful; they should move it around to an earlier time. I couldn’t believe when I read about the cancellation…The story lines between the characters portrayed is just getting established and presents further allure. I, also loved Three Rivers and Trauma. I really have to wonder what the heck CBS is doing…get a grip “guys & gals”…and try a different time slot before cancelling all of these shows…upsetting the actors lives not to mention ours!!
This is a great show. I hope some other network will pick it up. It will be a big hit if it gets the chance. I really like the crew as well. Please keep it on!!!!
I really loved this show. The character relationships were especially interesting to watch. CBS never gave this show a chance – lousy time slot, they stopped posting the full episodes on the CBS/Miami Medical website, taking down posts every day. It’s like they were looking for a tax write-off instead of the HIT they could have had on their hands. CBS has a history of doing this. Why do all the shows I like seem to get cancelled? Miami Medical is one of the few medical series that I like. I’m glad that we at least get to see the entire season.
Finally a show comes on that I can really get interested in and its cancelled. WAY TO GO CBS!!!. I don’t know who makes the decisions there but I think they should take a closer look
I just started watching this show and really enjoy it – the actors do a great job. Why don’t you give them a chance? Putting on in mid-season, not a great time slot, they should be renewed for Season 2 – Please reconsider, I would continue watching this show.

Its typical of CBS. They suck. They rarely give ood shows a chance but keep airing garbage like Survivor. They canceled Jericho, Moonlight, and a bunch of others. The main reason many people don’t watch these shows is because they have switched to Cable stations like TNT, and USA. Psych, Burn Notice, and The Closer amongst others have drawn the audiences away from all the reality show junk on network TV. CBS uses the fallacy of “begging the question”logic. I like Miami Medical. The show wasn’t given a chance. It was aired in the worst possible time slot. They should give it a chance to shine. The cast is great.
This is the best show. I love all the characters. It is such a shame. Someone else HAS to pick this drama. It will be greatly missed. PLEASE,PLEASE CBS. Give these shows more of a chance, never have them on for enough time for people to get used to and enjoy the shows. Please don’t cancell this series.
