Nashville will return to ABC on March 16 with the second half of season four, and it is likely fans will also see a fifth season and more of the drama.
Many fans wondered if season four would be the last season of the series. Nashville also faced a challenge this season with Hayden Panettiere leaving the production for a time to receive treatment for postpartum depression.
However, there is no end in sight for this series. According to Entertainment Weekly, Paul Lee spoke about the series at the Winter TCA’s on Saturday.
He said:
“We don’t have any plans to finish Nashville. We have an incredibly passionate audience. The Nashville audience grows by a large amount in our delay viewings. No, at this point, no plans for Nashville other than to keep it going.”
These comments do fall in line with an earlier Nashville report from TV Series Finale that said Nashville would return for a fifth season.

Keep Nashville on tv
Me and my daughter watch it together every week. We absolutely love it. Cant wait for its return.
I love the show, I have many friends who are as excited about the show as I am. I have a granddaughter who said Deacon will sing at her wedding. What a great love story !!!!!!
Awesome news!!!!! Love Nashville.
My very favorite show. Can’t wait for season 5.
I love Nashville and all the characters. I do not miss any. Please do not stop. Please show us more of the concerts I am from South Africa and we do not get to see them.
Since I’ve never been a country music fan, I don’t even remember why I first watched “Nashville.” What I DO remember is I fell in love immediately, from the first episode that aired. As others have said, the music is phenomenal. I enjoy the stories and how the music is woven into the characters’ lives. Being a writer myself and appreciative of the arts in general, I find it so awesome that “Nashville” showcases the song-writing talent in the city. These days I mostly watch sports. “Nashville” is the only prime-time drama I never miss.
yes I would like to see it continue. Good actors, good songs and I am a country music fan
Yes please continue this show, I can’t believe the standard of talent . Great singers , great voices, great musicians, great arrangements, great production. I’m not a country fan but I love all those songs. Now here’s the BUTT. does every cast member have to greet everyone with “Hey” maybe that’s how it’s done in Nashville but to this Aussie, it is so annoying, and while I’m on the whinge wagon, too many ” Are you OK ‘s.” I know that is an American TV show favourite, but also very annoying . Just a little constructive criticism.
Stan.
Stan, you answered your own question. “Hey” is a typical Southern U.S. greeting. Why would you expect — or want — the show not to be authentic? As a native Southerner, I find few things as annoying in books and movies/TV shows as Southerners being depicted differently from how they are.
It’s a great show and the only show on tv that I watch faithfully.
I think it’s a great show! Great characters and music and I don’t even consider myself a country music fan.
I love this show ! I record each show so I can watch it over and over ..
From your lips to ABC gods’ ears! So well acted. One of few quality programs on netwrok TV,
If Nashville gets renewed for a fifth season, it should get a proper final season.
YES!! Season five, six, seven, eight, nine….Keep it going! This makes me happy.
