The saga of NBC’s medical disaster series continues.
Trauma revolves around a group of brave first responder paramedics in San Francisco. The high-action series is populated by an ensemble cast that includes Derek Luke, Cliff Curtis, Anastasia Griffith, Kevin Rankin, Aimee Garcia, Billy Lush, Jamey Sheridan, and Taylor Kinney.
Back in October, NBC indicated they weren’t ordering any additional episodes of Trauma beyond the initial 13 episode order, effectively cancelling the series. Then, in the wake of the failure of The Jay Leno Show, they ordered seven more episodes to fill primetime space.
When Trauma returned to the NBC schedule after a three month hiatus, the ratings were even worse than they were back in November. If the execs weren’t happy with the ratings before, they were very likely regretting their decision to order additional installments.
According to the Futon Critic, NBC has now cut their additional episode order from seven to five installments. That brings the season total to 18 episodes.
The last episode of the season, and almost certainly the series, will air on April 26th. No word yet if the producers adapted episode 18 so that it could serve as a series finale or if viewers will be left hanging.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Trauma’s episode order has been cut? Are you holding onto hope that it will be back for season two?

GIve it to TNT. Cable always has better taste than the garbage that keeps on popping up on Network TV.
It would be a loss to alot of hard work and high hopes. This TV Series has been a blessing to alot of people. The show itself is amazing, i will be keeping my fingers crossed on NBC ‘s decision for “Tramua” to return for a second season-i hope they will. =)
I’m with Keith & Brett- if NBC doesn’t want Trauma I hope TNT picks it up.
I hate looking forward to a show any more because every time I like one -it gets CANCELLED. Guess I’m always one of the millions that watch, but there is a million of
people+ watching something else and that show gets to stay & mine gets to G000000!
At least I can still see Southland on TNT.
You know it seems like what ever we the viewing public have to say about a favorite show or series , when the exec’s decide to cancel something we dont’t matter, so we can sit here and say we love this show and we love that show all day long, but we all know that it falls on deaf ears, the only thing that really matters to NBC and their higher ups is the bottom line. This is and always will be a case closed situation for them.

enough is enough! Trauma is a GREAT show.NBC needs to send it over to TNT where it can have the potential to grow like Southland; not be put to death ala Knight Rider, Bionic Woman, etc.
It’s a total shame to get rid of such a great show. If I could only watch one show it would definatly be this one. Where do the ratings come from, obviously not the people who watch.
Studio 60, Journeyman, The Black Donnely’s, ……. and now Trauma may be on the chopping block. How about you make some good 8-10 o’clock shows (the office, and 30 excluded) to bring viewers to the 10:00 spot. CBS goes good from 8-11 mon, wed, thurs. Quit offing the well written shows, and maybe start writing some good early primetime shows.
Trauma is an awesome show! The characters are engaging and the actors and actressess that play them make Trauma a unique an exciting show…wish it could’ve gone on longer!!! I’ll miss it if it is cancelled for good 🙁
I dont know how much this can help, but I think we should try:

I think the show is great. N.B.C. Is notorious for pulling good shows to early. Journeyman is a perfect example. I am sick of it.
With 24 going off the air, you would think NBC would keep Trauma on. I think I will cancel NBC from my viewing schedule.
I think it is a travesty that the network is not behinf this show, the rating were low when returned because NO ONE new it was back. They do nothing to advertise this great show. This is coming from someone who watches WAY too much tv. I give almost every show a chance and this is one of my favorites. and it not only me. EVERYONE in my family loves it and was extremely upset when we heard it was getting cancled. and not just my family, everyone that I can find who has watched loves it. If there is… Read more »
I really liked this show! I would love to see at least another season and see how much popularity the show can gain. Not to mention, we are friends with Kevin Rankin, Tyler Briggs, so we surely would like to see this show become the #1 show!!!
Trauma and Mercy provide great respite from all the reality programming. They are well written, exciting and often thought provoking. PLEASE renew them!
Best Show on Television… I hope they don’t cancel it or at least sell it to TNT it’s perfect for them…
Just like my other favorite Southland… Was great then TNT purchased it…
thats really funny that you said that because those were my thoughts exactly.
