FX is trying another 10/90 deal with the Partners TV show. If the ratings for the first season of 10 episodes hit a certain ratings threshold, the cable channel has committed to ordering a 90-episode second season. Anger Management had a similar deal and was renewed. Saint George did too but it was cancelled. How will Partners perform? Stay tuned.
On Partners, a snobby lawyer (Kelsey Grammer) and an overly ethics-driven lawyer (Martin Lawrence) become partners and end up helping each other get their lives in order. The rest of the cast includes McKaley Miller, Telma Hopkins, Danièle Watts, Rory O’Malley, and Edi Patterson.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
8/19 update: It doesn’t look good for the Partners TV show on FX.
Final season averages: 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 72,000 total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to locate so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you like the Partners TV series? Do you think that it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I know TV has changed a lot since “Frasier” first premiered and ended, but am I reading these viewers right?
38,000?
I remember when people Frasier was on occasion getting 30 million.
I think Grammer needs to take a break or do one of the following:
1. Walk into NBC and tell them he want’s a two-year commitment on a spin-off of “Frasier”
or
2. Walk into CBS and tell them he wants a CSI or NCIS spin-off.
I almost forgot, but don’t make the mistake Lucille Ball, Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke and several others have neglected…pick your time slot in your damn contract!
384,000
Hope the show is renewed…sense the show will continue to get better. Kelsey And Martin are great. Rest so so….writing is not all that bad. I’d say give it time… Remember Seinfeld season one?
I think the show is getting better and better. I laughed a lot in the Paralegal episode. Most of my friends loved that one also. I hope the ratings go up. I don’t want the show to be cancelled.
I think it deserves a fair shake. I personally love Kelsey Grammer as an entertainer, and Martin Lawrence is the perfect foil for his highbrow attitude. I hope the show has great success.
Slow start on 1st week, but I love it now! Not enough promo out side the home station & no repeats late nite to build a better following.
We just watched the fifth and sixth episode tonight. The show is definitely picking up steam. Tonight’s shows were better than previous episodes, and the later show (I think it was Paralegal Activity) had us in stitches. Martin Lawrence is amazing!! Kelsey’s no slouch, either. Keep up the good work, guys. Live long and prosper.
That ’90-episode second season’ is obviously a typo. Seasons typically last 20 or so episodes.
No, it’s not a typo. Anger Management is currently in its second season of 90 episodes, produced under a similar deal.
and the rate at which viewers are dropping, AM will have no one watching by episode 75.
which begs the question, who will watch it in syndication if no one is watching it now?
I’ve thought the same thing but there’s some pretty lousy stuff on television running in the really early hours.
Two great stars, and the rest of the cast is also very good. It is also very well written, fast moving, and funny as can be. Which begs the question- why has viewership fallen? My guess is lack of promotion, so producers get busy and at least promote your next couple episodes. Partners (I would have picked a better name, especially, since FX’s last show name Partners failed just 2 years ago) of 2014 well deserves to be picked up for 90 more episodes. Get with it,people, this show is truly entertaining and humorous.
I would think some of the loss of viewership is due to Charlie Sheen. I liked it better when he had Selma Blair on. However, reports are that he started getting creepy, so he had her fired. Her replacement(s) are various new females in bed with him, ALA the EXACT same thing he did on 2.5 men, and the New Dr. Jordan. And where is his Ex-Wife and Daughter? Have not seen them in ages either. Reduce the cost of the show by getting rid of the regulars? also where is Michael Boatman? Charlie can only have one male friend… Read more »
They work very well with each other. The show is well written, and very funny. I can’t wait to see more episodes. It would be wonderful if the show gets renewed. It’s about time we have an hilarious sitcom, and with Kelsey and Martin, I think we have a big hit to look forward to.
I watched because my husband wanted to watch. I didn’t have much expectation. We both liked it a lot and we laughed a lot. I am looking forward to future episodes.
I am still struggling to like this show. I like both Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence (and I like Telma Hopkins too), but there is something off about this show. One of my biggest gripes is the laugh track. I hate when there is laughter after nothing funny. I think the television audience can laugh when they find something funny without being prompted. It does have a funny moment or two in each episode, so it could find its groove over time. I am still watching for now.
Huge fan of the show, Partners. Lawrence and Grammer are Hilarious. That series should be picked up for another season.
I think something happen to Martin after his stroke i really think something wrong with his left arm an his rep has been hiding it seriously
I watched Partners for the first/last time last night. It was horrible. Kelsey Grammar was good and could carry the show himself. I also liked the privileged teenager. I did not care for the mother or daughter of Martin Lawrence. I did not like the office assistant or the investigator. And above all, sorry to those who are fans, I HATED MARTIN LAWRENCE’S part. Truly, guys, he cannot act and does not have comic timing. Movies make him look good. The other part that wasn’t good was the filming/editing. You could tell when “action” had just been said. PLEASE rework… Read more »
Partners: Lame, lame, lame. Not funny. Cancel it.
Without seeing a trailer for this, I had high hopes. I was sorely mistaken. After 4 minutes, I wanted to turn it off. It was only my girlfriend who wanted to see if it got any better. It didn’t. I can’t believe FX would want to risk inking a deal to air 100 episodes of this show. It shouldn’t have even been picked up after they made the pilot. It should have been taken out the back and shot. It might appeal to some, but not to me. I hope this drivel gets canned soon.
I don’t think it was bad. I think it was just first episode gitters. I do believe in Martin Lawrence he is a wonderful comedian and grammar. it easy to call there show stupid when half of yah ain’t trying to do anything with yah life.
