TV show description:
This TV show revolves around Doctor Daniel Pierce (Eric McCormack), an eccentric and brilliant neuroscience professor. Unfortunately, his mind is also damaged and he suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.
Pierce struggles with hallucinations and paranoid delusions brought on by his schizophrenia. Oddly though, he considers some of his hallucinations to be a gift. They occasionally allow him to make connections that his conscious mind can’t yet process. At other times, the hallucinations become Pierce’s greatest curse, leading him to behave in irrational, potentially dangerous ways.
Still, he’s recruited by FBI agent Kate Moretti (Rachael Leigh Cook) to help solve complex cases. Pierce has an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the way the mind works. He also has an uncanny ability to see patterns and can look past people’s conscious emotions to see what lies beneath. Kate is Pierce’s former student and, unlike her colleagues, she’s willing to look past his peculiarities.
Pierce’s mental condition and offbeat manner make it difficult for him to achieve the close friendships and intimate relationships he craves.
Those close to him include Max Lewicki (Arjay Smith), his teaching assistant. Max’s primary job is to keep Pierce in line and on task, whether that means grading midterms or laying out his boss’ wardrobe for the day. Natalie Vincent (Kelly Rowan) is Pierce’s best friend and every bit his intellectual equal. Paul Haley (LeVar Burton) is the dean at Pierce’s university and one of his few friends.
Pierce is in his element when solving an intricate puzzle or a coded message. But in unfamiliar situations, he can quickly become overwhelmed, and only his favorite music and a crossword puzzle have the power to make things right again.
Episode #39 — Run
When Moretti goes missing the day of her wedding, Pierce and Donnie set off in pursuit of the runaway bride. They soon learn that Kate has been abducted by a dangerous person from Pierce’s own past. Pierce and Donnie risk everything to save Moretti before it’s too late.
First aired: March 17, 2015
What do you think? Do you like the Perception TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
I haven’t been as upset with show (that was really good) being cancelled since Southland. At least we got a couple more seasons when it was picked up by TNT, this obviously won’t be an option for Perception. But we can still watch 2 broke girls (WTF)? Everyone hates that show how is it still on? I’ll also miss you Franklin & Bash, loved it but understood it wasn’t for everybody.
This sucks great show.
I loved this show and will miss it.
I really liked the show. It seems like every time they get a good show they take it off.
crappy ending! i didn’t want it to be over but this was terrible.
Just discovered this series and love it. cant believe with all the shocking shows on TV that this show has been cancelled. Typical! Great actors, amazing scripts, just a good show all round. Drama, thought provoking, humor, great characters. Bring it back please.
This innovative series, with great actors, should have been continued for another few seasons. The finale for the show was not satisfying for the faithful viewer.
Ilove the show there should be more seasons.
Not every show has to be edgie!! It is a good show with the Dr. Talking to phantoms, solving problems. Just tweak it,add more phantoms & ghosts; Maybe new detective & DA. The dr. &assitant &ghost OK
I Loved the Show!!!!!!!!!!!!! So sorry that it has been cancelled 🙁
I really, really liked Perception. I am a 63 year old female and I am totally po’d that they cancelled this show.
This has happened too often and I am seriously considering giving up tv all together.
When a piece of cr_ _ sh0w like Two Broke Girls is still on the air! Their voices are like fingernails on a chalkboard!
I adore Eric McCormack and the cast really flowed together. The storylines were interesting and some even made you think.
I like unusual shows: Medium, Fringe…..all cancelled. I really will miss Perception and the “family” I shared with them.
Hey Beverly, if you continue to watch programs you don’t like, I guarantee you will continue to complain. Do yourself a favor and stick to programs you like. Too much complaining may cause health problems. My opinion, thanks …
In defence of Barbara’ s statement. I have to say….how is she supposed to watch good tv shows when they keep getting cancelled because people prefer to watch cheap titillating crap? I believe that a lot of tv shows are now geared towards the dumbing down of America……
I enjoyed the show, it was much better than many of the shows that were renewed
I’m ticked off. I loved that show, looked forward to it every Tuesday night. I enjoyed the twists and how the characters worked together and the moral at the end of the story. And I really loved Eric McCormack in the role of Daniel Pierce, as well. The CW did the same thing to me with Dr. Emily Owens MD… tv is really letting me down lately. They love to give us cheap titillating crap in place of good television entertainment.
I totally agree with Sabrina
I will really miss the show. I love the premise of it and I really wish someone else would pick it up or that TNT would renew it. There’s so many of my favorite shows been canceled that this is really depressing.
Shod renew Perception!
With all the garbage, and copycat drivel… I mean, “reality” shows, on TV nowadays, you’d think that a show like Perception would be a welcomed change!
