“Stay dry. Stay alive.” Netflix has just released a new preview and the premiere date for their upcoming TV show The Rain.
The post-apocalyptic thriller centers on “two Danish siblings [who] emerge from the safety of their bunker six years after a brutal virus carried by the rain wipes out almost all humans in Scandinavia.” The cast includes Alba August, Lars Simonsen, Iben Hjejle, Angela Bundalovic, Sonny Lindberg, and Jessica Dinnage.
The Rain premieres on Netflix on May 4th.

The world as we know it has ended. In Netflix’s post-apocalyptic YA thriller, two Danish siblings emerge from the safety of their bunker six years after a brutal virus carried by the rain wipes out almost all humans in Scandinavia. After realizing all remnants of civilization are gone, they join a group of young survivors and together set out on a danger-filled quest through an abandoned Scandinavia, searching for any signs of life.
Set free from their collective past and societal rules, the group has the freedom to be who they want to be. In their struggle for survival, they discover that even in a post-apocalyptic world there’s still love, jealousy, and many of the coming of age dilemmas they thought they’d left behind with the disappearance of the world they once knew.

I love this show and have become attached to the characters. I hope there is a second season. Sometimes a show should end, but seasons are added anyway (Bloodline should have ended with season two.). This could go either way, but only if the quality of the story remains high. Don’t turn it into generic show.
