The AMC series has not been performing well in the ratings but, according to a listing in the Backstage industry casting paper, Rubicon has been renewed for year two. Here’s their info:
Rubicon (Drama, AMC) A think-tank analyst comes to the realization that his colleagues are not who he thought they were and may be a part of a covert organization secretly manipulating world politics and affairs. James Badge Dale stars. Casting: Avy Kaufman Casting, 180 Varick St., 16th Fl., New York, NY 10014. Premiered Aug. 1. Renewed.
Last Sunday’s episode attracted just a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 997,000 total viewers. That pales when compared to AMC’s Mad Men which scored a 0.6 demo rating and 2.1 million viewers.
The Backstage listing seems like it’s most likely a typo or error because, for now, they seem to be the only one saying there will be another year.
The season finale of Rubicon, “You Can Never Win,” is set to air next Sunday on AMC.
What do you think? Would you like to see Rubicon return for another year or should it be cancelled?

Great story, well directed, excellent actors. this series like food has a very very good taste, not all ppl could tell the difference. it may take longer time 2 atrract more audiance.
pls bring this deep original show back..
Greetings to the show staff
Stop taking good shows off were is the ending , there has to be more.
BRING THE SHOW BACK, HAPPENED TO THE ENDING. THIS REALLY STINKS.
One of the most brilliant shows since West Wing.
My guess is that this story line got a little to close to home for someone in authority.
I hope the AMC has the balls to bring it back for another nine seasons.
Do you think AMC was told to cut this? Too close to home for some agencies…..
Anyway AMC should be bold and bring back this fascinating series. Get rid of those STUPID comic book people. End zombies not quality suspenseful drama
please bring it back… but get real with where the show / plot is going before you start.
BRING IT BACK FOR SEASON 2!!!! What the heck are those stupid zombie and drug-addict shows doing on?
I note that the “viewer population” polled was topped @ 49yrs. All the people I know that watched are “seniors”…people with enough brains to have money and time to spend on intellectually stimulating plots; not egocentric drivel. Follow the money!
What an awful decision! Absolutely loved this show and had a hard time waiting each week for the next episode. Our family is very sad to see it go. I agree with the other posts – it was an intelligent and suspenseful show. The best I had seen in a very long time.
This is one of the best shows I have ever seen! It is gripping, full of suspense and intrigue, leaving me wondering & needing to know what happens next. It has got a lot of potential to go on for several more series. Give it another chance please.
Bring it back……….
Rubicon, like many other great shows have died far before their time. What is it that possesses a network to axe some of their best programming? RIP Rubicon, AMC – don’t give into the same hype every other network gives into.. you have some good shows, but Rubicon was one of them. You need to bring it back at LEAST for one more season and give your viewers the chance to give it the proper following it truly deserved – perhaps this time you can advertise it better? I resent HBO for axing some of it’s great shows.. ie Deadwood… Read more »
I thought this show had the best insight of any drama on TV, it has all the stuff to be number 1 over all demographics especially now with all the former heads of states around the world losing their power. It was just terrific to see such a wonderfull true to life show.
Absolutely I want it back. It was so upsetting to have it pulled!
Why is it that every time a really good quality series gets on, it gets cancelled. This was an outstanding show that has quality writers and great casting. I believe the problem is that it was not advertised to the public. It is a show that makes you think. My husband and I are addicted to Rubicon and Breaking Bad. There is so much garbage on T.V. and you are going to cancel this one? Shame on you!
