CBS RENEWS SUMMER THRILLER “SALVATION” FOR SEASON TWO
STUDIO CITY, Calif. – Oct. 18, 2017 – CBS today announced the second season renewal of the suspense thriller SALVATION for broadcast during summer 2018. Season two of the serialized drama received a 13-episode order.
SALVATION centers on Liam Cole, an MIT grad student, and Darius Tanz, a tech superstar, who bring Pentagon official Grace Barrows a staggering discovery – that an asteroid is just months away from colliding with Earth. Now with the added threat of nuclear war on the horizon, they work together with Secretary of Defense Harris Edwards to find a way to divert the asteroid, stop the war and save humanity before time runs out.
The series stars Santiago Cabrera, Jennifer Finnigan, Charlie Rowe, Jacqueline Byers, Rachel Drance and Ian Anthony Dale. Liz Kruger, Craig Shapiro, Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Stuart Gillard and Peter Lenkov are executive producers for CBS Television Studios in association with Secret Hideout.
The fate of CBS’ other summer drama, Zoo, is still up in the air.

I found it on Netflix and was instantly hooked. I have really enjoyed the pace and the cast and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very happy they renewed. BTW – it may be low in the ratings because I NEVER saw a commercial for this. AT ALL. And I watch ALL Channels. Dish Network doesn’t list it as a Prime TV show – it hasn’t been advertized very well. that in itself is a bummer

Glad it’s been renewed. Great show, suspense, & entertainment, but looking forward to seeing what happens as the finale left too many questions unanswered.
It would of been a crime to end Salvation at this point. There are too many unanswered questions. There was nothing final about the finale. It just raised more questions and left you pleading for the next episode which at this point has yet to come. Watched this on Amazon prime. Looking forward to seeing what happens. Just hope it’s the same writers.

I believe the decision to order 13 more episodes should be considered premature without having broadcast a better, or an actual, continuation episode. The last broadcast episode falls woefully short of convincing me to even care if the show has a second season!

Yeah, I’m really glad they renewed it! I wish I didn’t have to wait so long! They left it such a cliffhanger and I’m ready to see the next episode right away! I will wait with great anticipation!
