Though South Park has been on the air for more than 200 episodes and 16 seasons, the animated TV series continues to be very popular. Comedy Central has renewed the show all the way through season 20 and 2016.
There’s usually 14 episodes per season, broken up into two batched in spring and fall. In a recent interview with the NY Times, South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker said that they’re cutting their number of episodes per season.
Starting with the upcoming 17th season, there will be only 10 episodes per season and they’ll air in one grouping. Season 17 will begin airing on September 25th.
Stone related, “Why did we do seven and seven to begin with? We just sort of made that up. And we are switching to 10 for the same reason. It just sounded like a good number, and we won’t break up the year so we can more easily do other stuff.”
What do you think? Does it bother you that there will be fewer episodes in each season? How long should the show continue?
cmonnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Oh that sucks, WTF??? Why fewer episodes? What a crock.
cause the show sucks.
No, it doesn’t.
Yeah it does. The show was good for 3 seasons and that’s being generous.
