Last year, Freeform cancelled its Guilt and Dead of Summer TV series, after their first seasons. Now, the cable channel seems to be leaving the darkness in the past with The Bold Type TV show. Have they found a winning formula with this lighter summertime fare? Will The Bold Type be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
A Freeform drama inspired by the professional life of former Cosmopolitan Editor-in-Chief, Joanna Coles, The Bold Type stars Katie Stevens, Aisha Dee, Meghann Fahy, Matt Ward, Sam Page, Melora Hardin, and Nikohl Boosheri. Set at the offices of Scarlet, a women’s magazine, the story follows the newest generation of “Scarlet women” as they make their marks on the industry. It centers on Jane (Stevens), Kat (Dee), and Sutton (Fahy), who support each other even as they learn to assert themselves to the formidable figures at the company. Together they delve issues including sexuality, identity, romance, and style.
Below are the show’s TV ratings, typically the best way to tell if the series will be cancelled or renewed. These figures will be updated as the weeks progress.
