Bones has been a quiet hit for FOX but the same can’t be said for its spin-off, The Finder. FOX has now cancelled the low-rated series after one season.
The Finder is a procedural series that revolves around a man (Geoff Stults) with the extraordinary ability to help people find the unfindable. Other castmembers include Maddie Hasson, Mercedes Masohn, and Michael Clarke Duncan.
The spin-off debuted on January 12th to a disappointing 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.50 million total viewers. It was fourth in its Thursday night timeslot right out of the gate and lost nearly 30% of the all-important demo from its compatible lead-in, Bones. This was not a good start.

Things picked up a bit in the following weeks, thanks in large part to the show having FOX’s blockbuster American Idol as a lead-in. Still, the numbers weren’t as high as they should have been.
After seven weeks on the air, FOX put Finder on hiatus and then moved it to Friday nights, giving its Thursday timeslot to Touch. If The Finder could maintain a healthy percentage of its viewers after the switch, it would likely garner a renewal.
But that didn’t happen and Finder’s numbers dropped like a rock. In its first Friday airing, the freshman series attracted a 1.1 demo rating — an episode-to-episode loss of 53% — with just 4.03 million viewers. The numbers for future episodes fluctuated a bit but didn’t really get any more encouraging. The network could do just as well or better by running cheaper reality programming.
The season finale of The Finder is set to air this Friday night and there won’t be any episodes after that. Hopefully the producers saw the writing on the wall early enough and won’t leave viewers hanging with any major unresolved storylines.

Easily one of the BEST Tv shows i have watched (after Dexter).. So so disaapointed that it has only 1 season.. Not much of character development if you ask me but the content and its treatment is just fantastic.. Why.. 🙁
Excellent show. For a rating I would give it a ten. One of the best series I have seen on Netflix. I have not watched actual TV since 2007, almost 10 years. This show needs to come back, on Netflix, not Traditional TV.
Found this show on Netflix and LOVE IT! Sad to say I had never heard about it during the time it aired on television. We were so sad to see that there is only one season. I found this show after I had finished watching Bones on Netflix. Loved to see some of my favorite Bones characters make appearances on The Finder.
My daughter told me about this show on Netflix. It was fabulous!!! It left us both wanting more. So disappointed it only had one season!!!! Please make more!!!! I was very shocked to see Walter kill those men.
Throw this on the pile of comments that say “Netflix: take over this show and continue!” It’ll be tough without MCD but I think the story and other characters make it worth the effort.

Yes season 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 please I think the ratingswould go thought the roof also put it in Netflix just in case I miss a episode (not going to happen)
We just finished all 13 episodes of The Finder, and we’re bummed that there are no more episodes. We’re also saddened to learn of the death of Michael Clark Duncan, and we don’t see how the show could’ve continued without him. That last episode was really awesome. Really loved the scene where Walter takes out the bad guys.
I absolutely love “The Finder”. The characters were fun. I think they could have made it more exciting if Willa, did more with each case. Like being tech savvy or using her street knowledge to help. Leo, is awesome but he should’ve had more involvement with the legal input. With Walter, he always says everything is connected, they needed to show and explain how he connects things and what he’s seeing/thinking better. They should show a little more of a personal life and her life as a U.S. Marshal. The show needed more but i certainly wouldn’t have canceled it.
After watching Bones and being introduced to these characters I was happy to see they did a spinoff and the episodes were available on Netflix. It was witty with many plot twists and genuinely likable characters. It was refreshing with all the dark episodes available to find a show with humor, depth and fascinating plots and ideas. I enjoyed every episode yet felt really dropped myself by the last episode only to find out there was not going to be a continuation? Very poor judgment by whoever made that decision. I just watched the entire only season on Netflix. Obviously FOX botched the promotion of this show. I watch a lot of different TV shows on Netflix and this is easily in the top 10% of all the series I’ve seen over the last 3 years.
I just watched the 1st season of this show and I loved it… I want a season 2 with the same people in it and so on… Please rethink this show again…

we watched this show on Netflix. I am shocked that it ended like that. Such a funny and interesting show. My hubby is going to so sad when he finds out that there are no more episodes to watch. so bummed.
