She’s done radio, game shows, commercials, movies, books, and TV shows like Saturday Night Live, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Bob, Hot in Cleveland, and The Golden Girls. What could be left for actress Betty White? How about a comic book?
Bluewater Productions is publishing a biographical comic about her titled Female Force: Betty White. Past comics in the Female Force series have told the tales of famous ladies like Margaret Thatcher, Kristen Stewart, Anne Rice, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Condolezza Rice, Sarah Pallin, Princess Diana, and Stephenie Meyer.
Written by Patrick McCray and illustrated by Todd Tennant, this one will try to cover White’s amazing career in just 32 pages.
“Working on the Betty book was an honor and a blast,” McCray said. “While covering a new entertainer is always fun, there is something special about profiling an icon. Not only did it allow me to savor nostalgia, it also let me catch up on areas of pop culture that had passed me by.”
Bluewater president Darren Davis said, “Betty White has had such an amazing entertainment career. It’s one that has now spanned more than 70 years. The biggest challenge that the creative team behind this book faced was figuring out how to include as much of this career as possible in one comic.”
Female Force: Betty White is set to arrive in comic stores in November and will sell for $3.99.
