TV show description:
From creator Andy Breckman, The Good Cop TV show is a Netflix original, based on the Israeli show of the same name, created by Erez and Tomer Aviram. The comedy centers on former NYPD officer Tony Caruso Sr (Danza) aka “Big Tony,” and his son, Tony Jr (Groban), who goes by TJ.
Lovable Big Tony was never exactly a stickler for the rules and is a little lacking in the honor department. Meanwhile TJ, a current NYPD Brooklyn-based detective, is straight-laced. Despite being an updated “odd couple,” the two live together and wind up as unofficial partners.
Big Tony, of course, is quick to offer TJ advice. And while the younger man likes to play thing by the book, sometimes he needs and even heeds his father’s candid street-smarts.

My husband and I love this show. It is very well written with well written characters. It is believable and funny. I laughed out loud with the bowling episode. Josh Grobin is a very good and funny actor, and Tony is always great. I hope Netflix renews or another station picks it up.

It is amazing to me that shows like The Good Cop that have actors with great chemistry, clever writing and just all around good scripts, get cancelled and more and more “reality and talk” shows survive. I want to lose myself in entertainment at the end of the day, NOT more reality! BRING IT BACK

Surprised the show was canceled so quickly. Quirky, likable characters with entertaining plot lines.
This is an excellent example of good television and very clever writing. Who knew that Josh Groban was such a clever actor. He is perfect for his part in this show. Hopefully some other network will allow this show to continue. This is similar to other television shows that were cancelled after one season, picked up and turned out to be long running series.

THE GOOD COP is smart and funny. And irreverent. The Decision-Makers at Netflix need to be fired. THE GOOD COP is an excellent cop show very well written and full of funny surprises and not-so-funny surprises. THE GOOD COP’s main characters are genuine depictions of real folks at their worst.
