A key cast member is leaving The Rookie. TVLine reports Afton Williamson will not return for season two of the ABC TV show.
Williamson plays Talia Bishop on the comedy drama, which centers on John Nolan (Nathan Fillion), a small-town guy who pursues his dream of being an LAPD officer after a life-changing experience. The cast also includes Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Titus Makin, Mercedes Mason, and Melissa O’Neil.
It’s unclear why Williamson is parting ways with The Rookie, but Harold Perrineau is expected to fill the void left by the actress. Season two is slated to premiere on ABC on September 29th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
What do you think? Have you seen The Rookie? Will you watch season two?
Ready to buy Season 3
I only seen first season, and it is great! I will defenetly watch season two and many more!
Love the rookie.
Great shoe
I love “The Rookie” has the perfect blend of drama and humor. I hope it lasts as long as “Castle” did!
As much as I love the cast of “The Rookie”, the writing really needs to step up. Season 1 Finale was exceptional…however, Season 2 Premier was just not I would expect from a series premier. Casts are excellent, the best of the best in their field….the writing just did not give them much to work with. Please, move it up a few notches. We are all staying tuned in for the next episode. We are all fans of Firefly, Serenity, Castle and, now, The Rookie!
I love the Rookie and am glad you picked up season 2. I sincerely hope you renew for at least 4 more years.
Will miss Afton Williamson, best of luck to her! I love The Rookie, can’t wait for Season 2 and hope it will have a long life.
