Looks like Disney+ isn’t going to the dogs. The streaming service has cancelled Turner & Hooch so we won’t be seeing a second season.
A comedy series, the Turner & Hooch TV show is a continuation of the 1989 movie of the same name. It stars Josh Peck, Carra Patterson, Lyndsy Fonseca, Vanessa Lengies, Brandon Jay McLaren, Jeremy Maguire, Anthony Ruivivar, Reginald VelJohnson, and Becca Tobin. In the show, ambitious and buttoned-up US Marshal Scott Turner (Peck) inherits a big, unruly, and slobbery French Mastiff named Hooch, much like his father (Tom Hanks in the movie) did. He soon realizes that the dog he didn’t want may actually be the partner that he needs. Scott’s family includes his sweet and animal-loving sister, Laura (Fonseca), and Matthew Garland (Maguire), Laura’s dog-loving son. At work, Scott’s brave and street-smart partner is Jessica Baxter (Patterson). Xavier Wilson (McLaren) is a cool and enigmatic marine-turned-US Marshal. Chief James Mendez (Ruivivar) is Scott’s boss who secretly has a soft spot for Hooch. Erica Mounir (Lengies) is the quirky head of the US Marshals’ dog training program.
The first season of 12 episodes debuted in July and finished being released in October. While the show seemed to be popular with Disney+ viewers, the Turner & Hooch series received mediocre reviews from most critics. Now, it appears that episode 12 was the end.
While Disney+ hasn’t announced the series has been cancelled, members of the cast don’t see it happening. McLaren responded to a viewer’s hope for season two and recurring actor Matt Hamilton retweeted it.

A veteran of the movie and the series, VelJohnson told ComicBook.com, “Well, as far as I know, they’re trying to sell it to another network or something like that. That’s what I heard. But as of now, it’s not going to be picked up, I don’t think. It was fun to do. And working with the actors was great fun and I hope so, whatever they decided to do I’m with it. It’s okay. I enjoy doing the sequel and, hopefully, we’ll have some time to do it again. But if not, I was glad for the experience.”
McLaren seems quite doubtful that the show will find a new home.

This show has to go on. I greatly enjoyed watching this fun and exciting tv series. If it were to go back on, I think that anyone who watched would be pleased because of fun mystery and good characters that came along. Make sure to make season 2 still with the dog, he was hilarious.

My 21 Yr old granddaughter and I loved this show! The 11 year old did also; WE ARE ALL VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE CANCELLATION!

I watched this show 8 times. The entire series. One of the best shows ever. Disney. You have zero clue what people want sometimes. This was so excellent and as usual I couldn’t be more disappointed. It appealed to a diverse audience like me. And it was so loving. Awesome show.
I would love nothing more than to see this show come back with season 2.
I watched this season 1 from beginning to end… I really liked this show! It had me hooked. I really hope there’s a season 2 because I want to see what happens with Scott and Erica. I really didn’t like that other lady. I like Josh Peck as an actor… I used to watch him in Drake and Josh. It was really great seeing him as an action hero.
I can’t believe the amount of people praising this show in these comments, did you all watch the same mediocre and boring show that I did? Because it was downright awful. Peck was an annoying idiot and none of his character traits made any sense given his background. Sister and that entire storyline was just annoying and useless. Supporting characters were fine but I’m not sure what “chemistry” people are talking about, because it’s pretty flat and the worst of all is just utterly useless Hooch as a character actually is, at least in the original he actually legitimately helped… Read more »

I cannot believe then turn on who will not be renewed It was one of the best series I have seen in a while on Disney and what happens to Turner and the dog trainer it is so messed up
NO!! Please don’t cancel Turner and Hooch! It is absolutely the most enjoyable show we have watched in a long time! Love all the characters and there is such chemistry among them! Sooo fun! We watched with our grown daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren and looked forward to every episode! Nice, good, clean family drama/comedy! Never listen to critics!!
NO! PLEASE don’t cancel Turner and Hooch! Absolutely the best series and the best collection of actors portraying lovable characters! An absolute joy to watch with my grown kids and grandchildren!! What do critics know?! We love the show!!
That’s to bad. The show was good. The sister storyline was unnecessary. She was a real nuisance. It probably would have been A great series without that whole sister character. U S Marshall’s are not dominated by family problems. So you killed this show with the sister crap. Hope it will come back some day, without the sister character.

I wish there were other seasons of Turner and Hooch. This is the first program I can watch with my children and we all really enjoyed it.. so disappointed there aren’t any more.
My family and I really loved these episodes.
When turner and Hooch is on, my older son sits with me and we watch together. It’s the only program we both sit together and enjoy. Any other programs are usually too childish or too grown up for him. When this program is not on, he is in his bedroom playing games. When Turner and hooch is on, he sits with me and we watch together.
So disappointed there aren’t any other seasons.
And I really enjoyed the different detective stories with a unique twist with the dog.
