Arrested Development fans have another update on the series available. Fans are waiting for the fifth season of the series to arrive on Netflix, and Tony Hale has now revealed what is holding up the production.
It is a matter of scheduling.
The Huffington Post reported that the actor made it clear to them that the production wants to film all the cast together at once. For season four, which premiered on Netflix in 2013, the cast was filmed separately.
Hale said that he missed “working across from Gob or working across from Lucille or Tobias.” A green screen was used for a lot of the work, and actors were cut and paste into the scenes where needed. This hurt the comedy of season four a bit.
Since the series ended on FOX, the careers of some of the stars has made them very busy. Finding a period of time that could last several weeks will not be easy.
The Gilmore Girls revival is currently filming with an end date next month, but it took some time to figure out the schedules of all the parties involved. Melissa McCarthy just joined the revival last week.
Do you still want a fifth season of Arrested Development? How long are you willing to wait for all of the cast’s schedules to align? Tell us what you think.
I’d wait forever for the cast’s schedules to align. Barring that, they could at least cut together the stories so we don’t see the same thing a bunch of times from a different perspective; S4 was difficult to watch because of that, and I feel like it didn’t really have an ending.
YES to season five! Season four was fantastic…just watched all the way thru again…loved it!
