Castle is officially over. And Andrew Marlowe, creator of the cancelled ABC series, took to Twitter to thank the cast and fans for making the show possible.
Last week, we reported ABC has cancelled the drama after eight seasons. The show starred Nathan Fillion as a mystery novelist who partners with an NYPD homicide detective (Stana Katic) to solve crimes.
Earlier, we posted a farewell letter from Castle‘s season eight showrunners. Now, the creator has posted messages of his own, thanking the cast and the fans for their hard work and support:
To the whole Castle family- our amazing cast, our remarkable crew, our imaginative writers & our wonderful fans, thank you for 8 amzing yrs!

What do you think? Were you a fan of Castle? Are you sad it’s over?
To b honest, I can’t tell you how I feel. Anything and everything from furious, seething, severely depressed. I have watched from day one, but stopped watching the day the news came out about Stana and Tamala. Just hours after receiving the news, Backstabber aired. I have never been so mad that I literally saw red until that night. Now I know that it IS possible to be that mad. I refused to watch the episodes after that until I finally gave up and watched Crossfire. The acting was Supberb as always, but was so disappointed in the outcome. Winter’s… Read more »
I remain furious at the writers and producers of the series finale. Killing off the two leads in a final, arbitrary, senseless gunfight was malicious and mean-spirited and for me unforgiveable. I will never devote any seasons at all to anything created by Marlowe or any other of the team responsible for this malicious mischief. Real life has enough senseless and arbitrary violence, death, and tragedy every day. I don’t need reminding of that by the writers and producers a police drama / romantic comedy. That’s not what I faithfully watched for over 8 seasons. I’ve read there was drama,… Read more »
PLEASE DO SOMETHING!!! Bring castle back…explanation…. They had to go into wit sec for seven years. There has to be some kind of compromise…
Or what about a movie going through the seven missed years?
I was a fan of Castle for all eight seasons, it was indeed one of my favorite shows. Every Monday evening I was glued to the tube. Castle and Beckett played the perfect roles. Castle the handsome writer smitten with Beckett’s beauty and intelligence. The perfect romance. Beckett was a wonderful role model for many women, someone who was strong and passionate about her calling. I enjoyed all of the characters and wonderful actors. Martha and her eccentric classy style; watching Alexis grow into a beautiful young lady. I also enjoyed the diversity of your team, with a strong Latino,… Read more »
