Last season, based on the second season success of Chicago Fire, NBC ordered a spin-off, Chicago PD. It ended up being the network’s fifth-highest rated scripted series of the season. Will the ratings rise or fall in season two? Cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
Chicago PD follows the men and women of the Chicago Police Department’s District 21 who pursue the perpetrators of major street crimes. The series features the talents of Jason Beghe, Jon Seda, Sophia Bush, Jesse Lee Soffer, Patrick John Flueger, Marina Squerciati, LaRoyce Hawkins, Archie Kao, Amy Morton, Brian Geraghty, and Elias Koteas.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
2/5 update: NBC has renewed Chicago PD for a third season for 2015-16. Details here.
Final season averages: 1.57 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.12 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The first season of Chicago PD averaged a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.41 million viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Chicago PD TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for third season?
ChicagoP.D. and Chicago Fire along with SVU were my favorite TV series. I would like to see that they do get renewed. Please! Please! Please! 🙂

CHICAGO PD IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST POLICE DRAMA ON TV!!!!!!
Best shows ever
I love this Show…Chicago PD …also think that Chicago Fire is good as well.
NEVER CANCEL THESE SHOWS…you put the realism into what is really going on
out there….
Chicago p.d and fire are the best two programmes on TV by miles I’m English and belive me without the great American programmes our telly would be rubbish. No one over here makes such intense viewing.
Love it. Keep it going!
If Chicago PD has been cancelled, very big mistake. Chicago PD and Chicago Fire two best series on TV.
One of, if not the very best show on T.V. Extremely well-acted and superbly written.
I would be devastated if NBC cancel Chicago PD. I look forward to this show on Wednesday, but with NBC you just never know.
I really enjoy both Fire and P.D. and think it is great that you intermingle Mariska Hargitay in some of the stories. Perhaps you could write a story line about an escaped felon from Chicago running the Alaska Iditarod to bring in AK State Police or an escaped felon piloting an Alaska fishing boat to bring in the AK Coast Guard. The Alaska environment would make the Windy City men and women think ‘outside the box.’
love Chicago PD !!!!
LOVE Chicago and Chicago Fire! Best since NCIS…hope both stay on for many seasons!!
excellent show! hope it stays on!
Chicago Fire and PD are both great shows! I hope they will be renewed for many years to come.
