Crikey! It’s the Irwins is making a move. After airing for two seasons on Animal Planet, the series is ready to air its third season on Discovery+ – the new streaming service that launched earlier this month. The reality series follows the Irwin family as they continue the mission started by Steve Irwin, to bring animals and people closer together.
Discovery+ revealed more about the return of the series in a press release.
“Season three of the award-winning series, CRIKEY! IT’S THE IRWINS, featuring Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin, and Bindi’s husband Chandler Powell, premieres Sunday Feb. 7 on discovery+, the definitive non-fiction, real-life subscription streaming service. discovery+ features a landmark partnership with Verizon that gives their customers with select plans up to 12 months of discovery+ on Verizon. A sneak peek of the premiere episode will air on Animal Planet directly out of Puppy Bowl XVII on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 5 PM ET/PT.
CRIKEY! IT’S THE IRWINS features the Irwin family as they continue Steve Irwin’s mission to bring people closer to animals and inspire them to become Wildlife Warriors to help protect and preserve our environment and its animals.
With this mission in mind, the Irwins continue to take up the mantle during the global pandemic as the new season opens with Terri delivering the much-anticipated news that Australia Zoo will finally reopen after being closed for 78 days due to COVID-19; Bindi and the team at the wildlife hospital find themselves in a desperate race to save a dozen corellas; and Robert witnesses the incredible birth of three tiger cubs.
Prior to the challenges of the pandemic, Australia faced devastating brushfires that wreaked havoc on the country’s landscape and wildlife population. The Irwins efforts to help as many animals as possible are the focus of a special episode. This season will also follow personal family milestones as newlyweds Bindi and Chandler prepare to welcome their own little Wildlife Warrior to the world, and Robert learns how to drive with the help of Terri and Bindi in his dad’s iconic old ute.
Other CRIKEY! IT’S THE IRWINS stories this season include Terri and Robert secretly trying to guess the sex of Bindi’s baby, while Bindi and Chandler have their own surprise in store; Bindi and Terri assisting the zoo’s dedicated vet team as they treat a multitude of animals at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital; Robert continuing his father’s legacy as he faces off with Bosco, the most aggressive crocodile at Australia Zoo; Chandler stepping up during the croc show for Robert when an injury prevents him from participating; and Bindi and Chandler studying coral bleaching on the Great Barrier Reef. Additionally, four rescued Sumatran Elephants arrive to Australia Zoo from Indonesia, fulfilling a dream that began over 30 years ago when Steve and Terri decided to fight for the survival of this critically endangered species.”

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Crikey! It’s The Irwins TV show? Do you plan to watch the third season on Discovery+?
I think that Discovery could put it on both platforms. Right now all I see is a money hungry service that doesn’t care if people have it or can afford it. Not a fan at all.
Shame on Discovery + for trying to make people pay to watch shows that were once included in the already high cable service!! Only in America can a network get so greedy and get away with it. If they want people to pay for this service and I choose not too then I certainly do not want to see their commercials showing all of the shows that I can not watch anymore. If they are going to take away all of these shows from us then it would make sense that our tv bill should be lower. Will that happen?… Read more »
I think its wrong for this stupid new discovery plus. you just want to make money and have people buy what was once free. Shame on you
Mad at them selling out to Discovery + been watching since before Terry and now won’t watch because I’m not paying to get Discovery + I pay way to much for TV now. And I don’t stream shows on my phone or computer. You lost a great fan and her family here.
I guess everyone has a price because all these people I thought were good people are trying to make us pay for discovery plus on top of our TV providers that we already overpay for. So much for caring about your public. I guess money talks louder than your loyal fans. Most people can’t afford this. Thanks for disappointing me like so many other shows jumping on the discovery plus streaming network. Not a fan anymore.
I think it’s not fair I love this show so does my daughter she has autism and she loves this show and she learns from it she also loves the animals but know it’s only on Discovery+ she is going to be upset and I don’t know what to tell her
Very saddened
This is a RIP off. I pay plenty for cable. I don’t have unlimited resources for streaming. I won’t be watching anymore.
I thought the Irwins were an upright for real people family! Evidently not! Moving to Discovery + is just cutting off the people who support and watch you!!
I’m done. I can’t afford to pay any more money to watch these shows. I pay enough already. Very disappointed in the discovery plus originals concept. These are most of the shows I watch. Feel like pulling the plug on TV altogether.
Very upset that this show has moved. Covid has hit hard and to get yet another subscription for this show is both upsetting and disappointing to say the least.
Steve put it on animal planet do the world could receive great conservation for animals.
I really don’t want to have to not watch as I luv the message and it’s family that makes it so different than other reality tv.
I really hope that this family Re thinks the decision ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very upset they are moving to a streaming service. I have watched the Irwins for years. Can’t afford to pay more when already paying too much for Verizon Fios.
This is very sad news for folks who truly enjoyed the Irwins on animal Planet. I refuse to subscibe to streaming service and guess the Irwins will become just a memory in our home
I can’t get Discovery plus I live in the Country. We don’t have WIFI.And I don’t have unlimited data. Please put the show back on animal planet.
Will not buy streaming services in addition to cable. I like series but will not see it streaming and paying additional fees. I think it’s a rip off.
I don’t like this one bit!!! I can’t afford to buy all these streaming services, more ways to take everyones money!!! Been watching The Irwins since the show started,i’m so disappointed, ee all don’t have money like all the streaming services!!! Thanks for nothing…..
Totally agree!!! Will not stream & will not watch as much of Animal Planet; do not appreciate this
The Zoo Sandiego, Dr Pimple Popper and many other shows are doing the same thing. It’s ridiculous. It’s always about money. We already pay $200+ for Comcast & now we’d have to pay more to keep watching so many shows from their networks.
It’s so sad that they took this away from us….
