Stephen Dorff is a familiar face to FOX viewers who watched the second season of Star. Now, he’s back on the network in the lead role of new series called Deputy. FOX has had a tough time establishing new drama series. Will this one be any different? Will Deputy be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A gritty crime drama with the flavor of a classic Western, Deputy was created by Will Beall and stars Dorff, Yara Martinez, Brian Van Holt, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Shane Paul McGhie, and Mark Moses. The show follows an ensemble of ambitious and complicated people who won’t rest until justice is served. The story begins when the elected Sheriff of LA County dies and an arcane rule in the county charter suddenly thrusts the most unlikely man into the job. A true “white hat”, Bill Hollister (Dorff) is a fifth-generation lawman and is only interested in justice. His close team includes Deputy Cade Ward (Van Holt), Deputy Brianna Bishop (Taylor-Klaus), and Deputy Joseph Harris (McGhie). Hollister frequently butts heads with Doctor Paula Reyes (Martinez), chief trauma surgeon of LA County General Hospital and also, Hollister’s wife.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
3/20 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Deputy TV series on FOX? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
*4/3/20 update: FOX has cancelled the Deputy TV series after one season.
This is a really good show. Hope it gets a new season
Great show , only thing I watch on ABC!
I think Deputy should get a season 2 Fox no longer has enough shows but this is a good one
Good program
PLEASE RENEW DEPUTY!! I absolutely love this show. It has so much going for it. Great actors, alot of character. I so look forward to watching this every week, it’s a refreshing show that keeps me on my toes. Please don’t take this away. It’s one of the better shows that’s been on in awhile. I hope you Renew Deputy!!!!!
I like the show I sure hope it returns!
Deputy is the best show on fox, along with 911. Please don’t cancel these programs. When I lived in California I worked at the hall of justice. It kind of brings back memories. So keep showing deputy. Do not cancel.
Great show, finally someone with a backbone that is trying to do the right things.
Keep it.
I like it. Interesting characters, good story lines. I like that the characters seem like real people with real people problems. Hope it sticks around.
I look forward to The Deputy each week. Great writing and hits to the heart of the topics. No sugar coating. Refreshing. Realistic. Down to earth. It would be a shame to cancel such an awesome new drama that is just getting started.
I’m tired of watching great shows and then having them canceled after one season, pleas keep the deputy it is a great cop show with a great cast . Problem with tv today there are way to many channels and to many shows so keeping a steady fan base becomes more and more difficult but doesn’t mean that the shows with lower than expected numbers are not worth renewing.
Love the show and the Sheriff, hope they Don’t Cancel it!
Yes keep it. It’s refreshing
My wife and I enjoy the show very much. Based on life experience I think most cops are crooks. that’s why I enjoy most cops shows because they show that at least some cops on the TVs at least are not crooks. We are in our sixties
Finally a show that has some True Grit. There are elements of current gender awareness along with family traits. I hope to see future episodes that teach basic moral lessons in our current Society. There’s a lot to work with in this show I hope they give it some thought and continue
