Michelle and Robert King created The Good Wife TV show which ran for seven seasons on CBS. Now, they’ve created Evil, a very different kind of drama series. How will it do in the ratings? Will it have a long or short run? Will Evil be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A supernatural thriller series, Evil stars Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi, Michael Emerson, Christine Lahti, Kurt Fuller, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco, and Dalya Knapp. A forensic psychologist, Kristen Bouchard accepts a job offer from David Acosta (Colter), a former adventure-seeking journalist. He’s now studying to be a Catholic priest and has been tasked by the Church to assess unexplained phenomena. Acosta also recruits Ben Shakir (Mandvi), an even-tempered realist with carpentry skills. He uses those abilities to uncover practical rationales behind “hauntings.” Kristen is certain that science can provide answers to every incident that the trio encounters — until she meets Leland Townsend (Emerson). He’s a sinister man who oozes menace and threatens Kristen and her four young daughters (Shuck, Gray, Crocco, and Knapp). Undeterred, Kristen, David, and Ben set out to assess inexplicable events to see if there’s a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
1/31 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.

Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Evil TV series on CBS? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
*10/22/19 update: CBS has renewed the Evil TV show for a second season.
This show is no good. Cancel it please.
Enjoy watching Evil. Like it has believers & non believers which makes it different. Well written, I will continue to watch.! Love the interaction of the family children. Good show !
I think Evil is intriguing and refreshing. Pulls the viewer in as they wait to see what is next. Good mix with believer and non believer. I am enjoying it!!!
I love this so much i stopped watching another Great show!
Come on, Nielsen people! Watch the show! I don’t want it to get cancelled. 🙁
I really like the show. Its unique and unpredictable and mostly makes me think. It is really philosophical. Can’t wait to see the bigger picture…Yeah, there are some cheesy moments, but I am so tired of typical shows like “Scandal’ or ‘Prodigal Son’. Yawn. I think cinematography looks fantastic, actors are great. I hope CBS sticks with this for a while.
This is the best show!!!
No, it’s not. And it’s headed for the scrap heap.
I watched the the first episode and really liked it. Now i just watched the last episode and cant believe they actually focused the show on RACE ! How and why would they take the show there ? It had promise until I saw this weeks episode.
The race angle was confusing; it was a random collection of facts and a random moment of realization. The idea was to show that the doctors don’t take the same amount of time than they do with white people to perform chest compression and this leads to them calling the death earlier for black people.
In the end they couldn’t figure out what the apparition in the video. They all agreed that it definitely wasn’t manipulated so the supernatural element lives on.
But with David being black, it made sense for him to bring this up
I had great hopes for this show, particularly after the appearance of the great Michael Emerson, but after two episodes it’s just not grabbing me. And that “bogey man” is lame.
Boogeyman is American folklore.
Yeah, so?
OK, I’m sold. This is a masterpiece.
I have only seen the one episodes and can see promise in the premise. How can you decide that early of the show’s future? It seems to me that they purposely kill some shows by moving them around and promoting lousy mindless shows. Other shows should never had been made keep chugging along because they are sandwich between 2 better shows . At least I have alternates to TV.
Cheers to a long, healthy run.
Great show.
Watched the 1st episode of Evil and was surprised how well done it was. Subject matter is very interesting. The acting was much better than most on regular TV. I set my tv to record all upcoming episodes. Excited about this shoe
Loved it!!
