Freak and Geeks was a huge one-season wonder on NBC, and many fans wonder what might have been if the series has continued and aired a second season.

Vulture had an interview with the cast and crew involved with the NBC series, which starred James Franco and Seth Rogen, and that interview revealed what would have happened if the NBC series had continued for a second season.

Judd Apatow and Martin Starr revealed that the second season would have separated the three geeks. One would have turned jock.

Apatow said:

“We wanted to show what would happen when Bill’s mom married his gym teacher, to have this stepdad pushing Bill into athletics. The show was going to have to change, because John Daley was getting taller, and it was also going to become about how these nerdy kids stay together when they’re changing in different ways.”
