God Friended Me was recently cancelled by CBS, and now the cast is reacting to the move by the network. Brandon Michael Hall, Violett Beane and others on the cast spoke about the series ending on social media.
Per TV Line, Hall revealed the following about the cancellation of God Friended Me:
“There’s something to be said for an artist to be able to wake up every single day and work with a group of people who you can honestly call your family. The hardest thing is knowing I’m not going to be able to… work with them [every day].”

We absolutely loved this show because it wasn’t about people shooting each other all the time, it was about God and the love of other people. The actors were fabulous. Our current world needs this show more than anything else.
I am very saddened by this cancellation. With the world the way it is right now and in this time of uncertainty, it was a great comfort to watch a feel good story for a change. It was a show we actually watched as a family and all enjoyed it.
More interesting to find out is why CBS? Was someone high up offended with the use of the word GOD?? Were there people who objected to the fact it showed man helping their fellow man? Yes, I loved the show and I’ll get used to not seeing it. But it just seems like individuals with the power to keep this on the air might need to re-evaluate their consciences.
I think the network should really reevaluate their decision to cancel God friended me. Especially in the horrific time we are in with the pandemic. It is an uplifting show with so much positivity. We looked forward to watching it as a family every week. It is truly sad news. Hopefully, another network will pickup the show.
I love this show, and I’m so sorry there won’t be a Season 3. It’s a feel good show. There aren’t many shows left on TV like that.
I wish CBS didn’t cancel god friended me, that was one of the best shows that I looked forward to watching every Sunday and now can’t because it’s cancelled. I don’t want to watch these other lame shows where people are getting beat up, murdered or blood and guts, how boring.
Please bring god friended me back.
I really enjoy this show. It is one of the best. Seems like whenever I like a show it gets cancelled. Please don’t cancel. I look forward to Sunday to watch it.

I loved the show. You had a great mix of people. Shame on you CBS.
This was such a great show! Each week members of our congregation would be discussing this program, and the impact it had on us. Now it will probably be replaced by some another inane show that features exploding cars, kidnapping, or some other form of entertainment that appeals to those who like such things. Say it ain’t so. I have been watching this show from the beginning. I look forward to watching this show every Sunday. I don’t understand why you keep a lot of stupid shows on but cancel the positive shows. Why would you cancel this show. I am pissed!!!!!! This is crazy
Too bad, this was a beautiful show. It was so very different from other shows, people helping strangers in their time of need, I wish they could get a call to help me, I would really love that and it would be much appreciated. I AM REALLY GOING TO MISS THIS SHOW FOR SURE. GOD BLESS TO ALL
It’s really sad to see the show being canceled. I look forward to every Sunday night at 8 o’clock like many thousands of others. You finally have a show that brings everybody together and especially in times like these it’s heartbreaking. There are people out there that enjoy shows like these rather than seeing somebody getting shot and killed. I wish they would read the comments on the Facebook page.
