TV show description:
A drama series set in New York City, God Friended Me revolves around a thoughtful and outspoken podcaster named Miles Finer (Hall). Miles is an atheist and that puts him at odds with his father, Reverend Arthur Finer (Morton), a beloved and longtime preacher at Harlem’s Trinity Church.
Miles’ life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from a user named “God”. He ignores and declines the request but it keeps coming back so, out of curiosity, he accepts and the mystery deepens as he digs deeper into his new friend’s account.
He’s led to Cara Bloom (Beane), an online journalist who’s been struggling with writer’s block. Intrigued by Miles’ story, Cara joins him in investigating friend suggestions from “God” and they end up helping others in need — while learning things about themselves.
Miles and Cara are aided by Ali Finer (Leslie), Miles’ supportive sister. She’s a doctoral psych student by day and a bartender by night. Also lending a hand is Rakesh Singh (Sharma), Miles’ best friend and a sometimes hacker who needs some help on the social side of his life.
Miles is convinced that the “God” account is an elaborate hoax and is devoted to uncovering the truth. In the meantime, he’s playing along and, in the process, seeing his life changed forever.
Episode #42 — The Mountain
Miles is forced to examine his lack of faith more than ever before when the God Account sends him his sister, Ali, as a friend suggestion on the eve of her cancer surgery.
First aired: April 26, 2020.
What do you think? Do you like the God Friended Me TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season on CBS?
I loved the show God friended me and I think it’s unfortunate it was canceled. We watched the show every week. It’s a good, quality show with caring people doing the right thing for a change. We need good, quality, wholesome shows like this.
This was one of my favorite shows.Looked forward to watching each week.Nice family show.I quess CBS is looking for another violence filled show to take its place.
I just watched the last show, I can’t believe they cancelled it when we need it most. I hope the network looks at these comments and give it at least another year. We’ve had a lot of cancellations in the real world. Another nail in the coffin. Networks, please reconsider.
I really hate to see “God friended me” cancelled. It is one of favorite shows. Just a good wholesome show that reflects hope and faith in this day and age. I hate to see it go…
I am so upset God Friended Me is being canceled. I don’t know a single person who doesn’t love it! Being extremely upset is an understatement.
I have really enjoyed this show. Every Sunday night I look forward to that little reminder that there is still good in this world. I hate to see it cancelled.
I was saddened to hear that God Friended Me was being cancelled. This is one of the better shows on tv these days. With so many violent shows on tv, this was one family friendly show that was a breath of fresh air. It’s unfortunate that ratings made this decision, which comes down to money. With all the sadness and grief in the world right now, especially with the pandemic Coronavirus, God Friended Me was a very refreshing way to spend an hour every Sunday evening. Please renew this show even though the finale has aired…it would be a timely… Read more »
This show should not be cancelled. Whether you believe in God or not , this is a show with a beautiful message each week. What can we do to bring it back.
I don’t wAtch many network shows! The two I do watch every week are on cbs! The new magnum and God friended me! Usually when I like a tv show on the network ststions, they get cancelled ! Not sure where why that is! God friended me is a beautiful show! It is like nothing else on tv! It would be nice to see another station pick it up!
I cannot believe this quality show was cancelled. We need more wholesome shows not less. Shame on you CBS!
I am so disappointed that you have canceled God Friended Me. Goodbye CBS. I’m canceling you!
God Friended Me is the most feel good show we’ve been blessed to have in many years. With God taken out of everything now days you should consider leaving a little bit of a God on TV! We all need encouragement & love, especially now! Please reconsider renewing this show!!
How sad to see a show cancelled which was characterized by values we rarely see today. When I channel search and see some of the crass and crude shows which still play on I have to wonder what has happened to our world. The premise of this show was fresh and imaginative . The lessons suggested by the writers did not “shove religion in our faces”. Instead it demonstrated just how much good there is in the world when we reach out and help one another. I do have a strong faith in God but very little faith in CBS!… Read more »
CBS programming planners. We are so very your decision-makers do not view the value of God Friended Me: The series presented a superb cast performing in a masterfully written script with many cliff-hangers! We are not into viewing old flicks on Sunday Eve Prime Time so CU!
