TV show description:
A drama series set in New York City, God Friended Me revolves around a thoughtful and outspoken podcaster named Miles Finer (Hall). Miles is an atheist and that puts him at odds with his father, Reverend Arthur Finer (Morton), a beloved and longtime preacher at Harlem’s Trinity Church.
Miles’ life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from a user named “God”. He ignores and declines the request but it keeps coming back so, out of curiosity, he accepts and the mystery deepens as he digs deeper into his new friend’s account.
He’s led to Cara Bloom (Beane), an online journalist who’s been struggling with writer’s block. Intrigued by Miles’ story, Cara joins him in investigating friend suggestions from “God” and they end up helping others in need — while learning things about themselves.
Miles and Cara are aided by Ali Finer (Leslie), Miles’ supportive sister. She’s a doctoral psych student by day and a bartender by night. Also lending a hand is Rakesh Singh (Sharma), Miles’ best friend and a sometimes hacker who needs some help on the social side of his life.
Miles is convinced that the “God” account is an elaborate hoax and is devoted to uncovering the truth. In the meantime, he’s playing along and, in the process, seeing his life changed forever.

Miles is forced to examine his lack of faith more than ever before when the God Account sends him his sister, Ali, as a friend suggestion on the eve of her cancer surgery.

It’s the best show I’ve ever seen (in 64 years of watching television). Superb acting and it brings out good emotions from the audience. Any chance another network will pick it up?
I look so forward to this show every week! I am so sad to hear that we’re losing it too! We need this show especially right now during this pandemic. I also just found out that our favorite pastor at New Hope Oahu is leaving us.

I really look forward to watching this show every Sunday because of the message in every episode is a positive one. Makes for a good end to my Sunday/weekend. Instead of watching all the negativity on TV right now, this program sends a positive message of helping people who need it. I don’t understand why it’s being cancelled _ please say it isn’t so.

I am so sad that God Friended Me was canceled. It was nice to watch a show that was not violent or overly sexual. My family liked the uplifting stories in this time of tension and uncertainty. We need to see kindness in the world now.

Loved this show. Given the lack of wholesome, intelligent, family friendly programs, I am very disappointed that CBS chose to cancel God Friended Me. Hard to find programs without killing, gore, crime, and the worst side of life on full display. With everything going on in the world right now we could all use more uplifting programs. Please reconsider the cancellation. We all need hope right now. Thank you.

My husband and I are upset about the show being cancelled, in the Godless world we live in this show was a beacon of light for 1hr every week….sad no one saw enough faith to save the show
