TV show description:
A drama series set in New York City, God Friended Me revolves around a thoughtful and outspoken podcaster named Miles Finer (Hall). Miles is an atheist and that puts him at odds with his father, Reverend Arthur Finer (Morton), a beloved and longtime preacher at Harlem’s Trinity Church.
Miles’ life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from a user named “God”. He ignores and declines the request but it keeps coming back so, out of curiosity, he accepts and the mystery deepens as he digs deeper into his new friend’s account.
He’s led to Cara Bloom (Beane), an online journalist who’s been struggling with writer’s block. Intrigued by Miles’ story, Cara joins him in investigating friend suggestions from “God” and they end up helping others in need — while learning things about themselves.
Miles and Cara are aided by Ali Finer (Leslie), Miles’ supportive sister. She’s a doctoral psych student by day and a bartender by night. Also lending a hand is Rakesh Singh (Sharma), Miles’ best friend and a sometimes hacker who needs some help on the social side of his life.
Miles is convinced that the “God” account is an elaborate hoax and is devoted to uncovering the truth. In the meantime, he’s playing along and, in the process, seeing his life changed forever.
Episode #42 — The Mountain
Miles is forced to examine his lack of faith more than ever before when the God Account sends him his sister, Ali, as a friend suggestion on the eve of her cancer surgery.
First aired: April 26, 2020.
What do you think? Do you like the God Friended Me TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season on CBS?
Very bad decision by someone. Bring it back.
God Friended Me Show -I watched the series finale last night – great show as always. Was VERY disappointed to find out it was the series finale and not the season finale. We need more shows that are uplifting and remind us to be better people. I hope some time this show will return. The cast was great and interacted well together. JG
G-d just sent a friend suggestion to CBS…. Solution: Bring it back on TV!!!
Everytime a good family show comes on some one decides to cancel it.The TV is a vast wasteland of nothing so cancel a great show especially when it’s about God.Please CBS do the right thing and bring this show back.
With times like these… Covid-19 Pandemic, so many struggling I simply do not understand the harshness of cancelling such a great show that makes you think, laugh and cry without sex, foul language, killing and hate. It is a show that people of no faith to all faiths can relate to. I am Jewish and absolutely loved the show and gave me an opportunity to discuss episodes with my grown children to friends and my hubby. To replace it with Sunday night movies from long ago? When there were not a lot of opportunities to see movies other than going… Read more »
This is the ONLY show on TV that I watched every episode and it is extremely disheartening to have it cancelled. We need MORE uplifting shows with a message of faith and hope, not more run of the mill violence and cop shows. How can we get another network to pick up this great show and keep it going? Not ready to give up if there is something we can do!
I’d like to know what we can do to get it back as well! Does anyone know if CBS reads these comments? How can we reach CBS?
I cannot believe they are canceling such an amazing family-centered show! I always looked forward to watching it on Sunday evening. Please reconsider bringing it back for a third season. It not often a look forward to any show as much as I did this one.
I really liked show and it should not have been canceled!!!! Very good show
Does CBS look at comments? Does anyone know? If not, where can one voice their opinion to bring this show back?
I cried last night with the series ending. This truly is an awesome show. Great acting, scripts etc. I rarely cry at the ending of a series but this one got to me. I honestly felt like I was experiencing a death. PLEASE CBS BRING THIS SHOW BACK.
Very saddened about this cancellation. We looked forward to watching it each week. It’s a much better show than a couple of others that have been renewed on CBS.
Very disappointed that CBS cancelled a great show. It was a refreshing upbeat television show. Nice to have a change from real life.
I am so disappointed a Great show and Actors. Something a family could even watch together without having all the trashy stuff on tv these days. I feel good show.
Sucks. Oh and my mom is also ticked off
great another family friendly show bites the dust, if the network can’t show enough sex and rude language it gets canceled. we enjoyed this show !!!
What a shame t=shame that this show has been cancelled. I have looked forward to eeing it since it began. A good family show, uplifting and encouraged good conversation Hope there is some way that it can return.
