What’s This TV Show About?
A comedic, fantastical Syfy crime drama, Happy! stars Christopher Meloni with Patton Oswalt (voice), Lili Mirojnick, Joseph Reitman, Medina Senghore, Ritchie Coster, and Patrick Fischler. The first season cast also includes Debi Mazar, Bryce Lorenzo, Ren Colley, Alexander Jameson, Benjamin Snyder, Catherine LeFrere, and Michael Maize. Happy! centers on a former cop, Nick Sax (Meloni). Now a hitman more or less on the skids, Nick finds himself unmoored in a treacherous world full of murder and meaningless hook-ups. One day though, his drunken, depressing existence is turned upside down by Happy (Oswalt), an imaginary unicorn, who is out to save the day.
Season One Ratings
The first season of Happy! averaged a 0.21 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 658,000 viewers. Find out how Happy! stacks up against the other Syfy TV shows.
On January 29, 2018, Happy! was renewed for a second season which will debut March 27, 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Although it premiered with great ratings for a Syfy TV series, the numbers have fallen quite a bit in subsequent weeks. Flying blind, while I’m not averse to a little horse unicorn flesh, or that of a well-marinated detective/hitman, I think Happy! will score a second season renewal. It has something of a built-in audience, thanks to the Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson graphic novel. That said, I reserve the right to change my mind, should it fail to draw a respectable audience. For now, I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page with breaking developments. Yes please bring Happy back!! For me it was a strong performance from Chris!! The craziness from this show was a much needed laugh out loud that I personally needed esp with all the BS happening in real time!! Plus I love Happy

This show deserves a second season! Even though it took a few episodes to figure out what was going on, I decided I would watch it from the opening scene when Sax, played by Christopher Meloni, has a fantasy of blowing his brains out, which turns into him dancing with a couple of what looks to be strippers dressed like a sexy Mrs. Claus. Bizzare, shocking, thrilling, bizzare, suspense, touching, and bizzare! Unlike anything else on television, and for that reason alone it should Automatically be renewed!

I read the graphic novel and was looking forward to the show. This is supposed to be a dark COMEDY. Meloni captures that perfectly. Some of the actors brought it some badly needed comic levity and dimension like the Lobster perv and the old stripper. All too briefly. Some of the other characters are not comic at all and they leave me cold. My gf and I prefer the dark comedy aspect of the show. CGI is first rate.

Best show on syfy…Happy…outstanding action…comedy and drama…iconic actor Mr. Meloni…he just keeps it coming…every episode so far has been very exciting and inviting to watch…truly right on…cannot help but to love it…Happy…yes…forever.

My whole family loves this new tv show we actually was trying to watch it last night thinking a new one would come on.. Instead it replayed all the old ones 🙁 We were all very disappointed especially our kiddo. Me trying to find out what happened to it is how I came across this page. They have to at least show the virlgetting saved right? Were all invested in watching it now They could keep the show going even after the children are saved he could become a cop again and him and happy can work different crazy cases… Read more »
My brother and I, both in our 40’s, absolutely love this show. It feels fresh and different despite being a buddy cop theme and the dark humour is very appropriate for today’s social climate. Praying for a Season 2, and more.
My 14 year old son and myself ,a 40 year old single mother, really get a kick out of the show. Meloni is an extremely talented actor who seems to be nailing this part. As does his Co-actor ,Oswalt. Everyone in this show is quite exceptional. Here’s hoping for a second season.
