Last week, ABC revised their primetime schedule and the final two episodes of Happy Town were bumped. The move didn’t come as a big surprise since the ratings have continued to drop lower and lower.
It was speculated that the episodes might air on a Saturday night in July, following in the footsteps of fellow cancelled shows the forgotten (July 3rd) and Eastwick (July 10th).
Now, the unofficial word is that the last two episodes of Happy Town won’t even be shown on TV. Instead, they’ll be burned off on ABC’s website. The show’s official network representative couldn’t offer us any details but confirmed that ABC doesn’t have plans to air the final episodes in the foreseeable future.
The writers and producers of Happy Town have been told that they’ll be released online but haven’t been able to find out when that will happen either. We’ll keep you posted when we learn more.
UPDATE: The last episodes have been posted. You can watch “Dallas Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” and “Blame it on Rio Bravo” here.
What do you think? Does it upset you that the last two episodes will be released on the Internet? Does it matter?

When will the episodes be posted? ABC, don’t keep us in the dark?
this is awful, I am convinced that the time has come for me to stop watching tv altogether. I cannot believe that abc does not have decency to respect the viewers that actually enjoyed the show…shame on you!!!!!
Why would one watch it if it’s cancelled. Why should I waste my time it’s really sick they
keep doing this, don’t they know that peolpe have DVRs
Completely ridiculous. In the very beginning, Happy Town was billed as just one season…sort of a mini-series, if you will…with a beginning, middle and end, where all questions would be answered. ABC couldn’t even commit to that??? Seriously??? Maybe – just maybe – if you don’t juggle and remove shows at the whim of a corporate yahoo who probably watches only “The Biggest Jackass” (or, insert your own reality show here), your non-reality shows might actually be able to generate a following. Crazy, I know. Regardless, I grew intrigued by Happy Town and was completely satisfied with the fact that… Read more »
How much did ABC really stand to lose by showing two final shows? I love this show, and the decision not to at least finish it for those who were watching really aggravates me.
You HAVE to at least air it on the net!!!! I want to know who the magic man is, and what happens to everyone. I’m seriously bummed.
I was really enjoying this show. However, I work nights so I can never watch shows when they air. I have to watch everything on hulu.com. Sorry I couldn’t help out with ratings happy town! I will be happy if they put the remaining episodes on the interenet cause I will be able to watch how the season ends.
I was really looking forwrd in coming into work today and watching a new episode and then learned that is was getting cancelled. bummer.
the acting might have been a little weak but do those stupid reality shows do that well? or are they that much cheaper to run!
Darn. I was enjoying this show (not quite as much as Harpers Island), but it kinda got you sucked in as it progressed. And who the heck is the Magic Man. What would it have hurt to put the last 2 episodes on. Even in the early morning hours when there is nothing important on. They could have put it on then for just two weeks. What a tease. I am disgusted with Channel 9.
I don’t have a TV; I watch everything on Hulu. So what happened when I went to watch it online at noon? It wasn’t there! Further investigation led to my discovering that Happy Town…had been cancelled.
First Pushing Daisies now this?! F*** ABC! Interesting characters, intriguing plot, obviously very dedicated fans. I can’t think of one thing I DIDN’T like about this series. Thanks, ABC. You’re good at so many things, like cancelling awesome shows and pissing people off.
PLEASE do let us know where it airs (online or whatever) I just want to know who the Magic Man is too!
Why can’t they give these shows a chance. I really enjoyed this show.
This makes me want to stop watching any new series from ABC
This is a shame, at least air the last episodes for the people who supported the show
I can’t believe ABC did this. Yall suck ya know it…at least tell me who the magic man is dagnabit!!
Once again a show that I like ends up being cancelled. Not everyone wants to watch realty shows. I hope they change their mind or maybe another network will pick it up.
I was really enjoying this show (just like I enjoyed Harper’s Island) and I’m not only sad to see that it’s being cancelled (although I knew it was going to happen) but also that I can’t even finish it out on TV!
