It looks like Syfy is no longer safe for fans of Haven. The cable channel has cancelled the TV show after five seasons. The remaining 13 episodes of season five will begin airing on October 8th.
On Haven, FBI Agent Audrey Parker (Emily Rose) and Officer Nathan Wuornos (Lucas Bryant) investigate strange occurrences in the small town of Haven, Maine. Others in the cast include Emma Lahana, Eric Balfour, Richard Donat, John Dunsworth, and Adam Copeland.
Last year, the series was renewed for a super-sized fifth season of 26 episodes — double the usual size. This kind of renewal often foreshadows series coming to an end and sometimes allows a studio to produce more episodes without having to renegotiate actor contracts for an additional season.
The 13 episodes of season five which have already aired have averaged a 0.20 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 860,000 viewers. That’s down by 41-52% when compared to the ratings from season four.
What do you think? Do you like the Haven TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a sixth season instead? Would you watch it elsewhere?
I am starting to think that the only way to make sure certain shows are kept on the air, is to NOT LET ON THAT WE LIKE IT!! It seems that pretty much any show that is a pleasure to watch, gets done in.
I swear every show I like has been cancelled. This is some ********! They should just cancel the SyFy channel every good show on the network is cancelled. This really sucks. They should bring it on Netflix
Why do they always have to cancelled a good shows. I have been watching this show from day one. Now Syfy does it again by doing way with a good show. They never let these shows go passed season 5 to a season 6. Please let there be a season 6,
I was there in begining when it started I have always watched this show and have never missed an episode, they should renew it, I just started to get the books, please don’t cancel it
I saw this coming to be honest, the show was STRETCHING to pull in both people and good story lines. The addition in the 4th season of some new characters and such was an attempt to make it better, it lasted only for a few episodes or so. The changes with bad Audrey helped make it more interesting, and also showed that Emily Rose had some acting chops in her ability to play a few different characters. I am hating the Teague brothers story line now, and Crocker is not so interesting to watch anymore, all of these might be… Read more »
I really loved this show and will definitely miss it but SYFY made up for it when they gave us “Dominion”. Do not EVER cancel that show because it is one of the best series ever.
Personally, love the show. Though they tout this as Season 5.5, it really is Season 6 and whether all the contract blah blah blah, its one of the only shows that have lasted this long on Sci Fi, oh exsqueese me, SYFY, even Stargate (any of the 3) made it past 5 years. I am content, they have the 13 to wrap up the story, it’s been good, not so good, then good again (Like Once Upon A Time) and it’s really good again. Better to go out good than XFiles season 8-9 and everyone complains about Anabeth Gish when… Read more »
just a little grammar mistake I made…..” even Stargate (any of the 3) made it past 5 years.” was supposed to say ‘even Stargate did not make it past 5 years’
Stargate SG-1 went on for 10 seasons, Atlantis for 5 and was only canceled for some stupid reason I seem to remember. The crap that was Universe needed to be shot and put out of it’s misery though. If you remember Atlantis ended with Atlantis in the water near the Golden Gate bridge, I think they were supposed to go back into space and continue on but the show was canceled. I know there were rumors to have a movie shot and a possible movie every 2 years or so. Needless to say that did not happen, No idea why,… Read more »
Stargate SG-1 seasons 1-5 played first on Showtime. SyFy started with season 6 and ended with 10. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stargate_SG-1#Showtime_and_US_syndication_.281997.E2.80.932002.29
The only show on Syfy we were still watching, so of course it was cancelled. Well, the good news is, when they finish airing the remaining episodes of Haven we can stop checking that channel to see if Haven is being rerun. We now own seasons 1-4, will acquire 5 when it is released, and give up on Syfy. We already skip A&E, since they cancelled Longmire (thank you Netflix for picking it up!) now we can skip Syfy as well.
I’m gonna quit watching TV, every show I like keeps getting cancelled.
It figures all the shows I watch they cancel.
Save Haven!!
It started off good for a couple of seasons but then kinda lost its way and got to weird even for me.
This series lost me a couple seasons back! Liked the first few seasons better but haven’t watched in a couple seasons! To bad!
I liked Haven better in the early years when it was a little more down to earth. As they do with many episodic shows they jumped the shark after a few years and things became too science fictioney. I liked the early years more than the later years, and looks like a lot of other viewers did too. Oh well, I have enjoyed it good and bad, and have watched almost all of the episodes. I have seen many other shows follow this same path and the results are almost nearly always the same. The Writers and Producers seem inclined… Read more »
Please don’t cancel it it so good
ONCE AGAIN ANOTHER FANTASTIC SHOW CANCELLED. I REALLY THINK THIS COUNTRY IS “DUMBING DOWN” TO SUPPOSED REALITY SHOWS AND POORLY ACTED AND SCRIPTED DRAMAS. ALL OF THE INTELLIGENT AND INTERESTING SHOWS GET CANCELLED.
