NBC is getting graphic. Deadline reports the network is developing Hawaiian Dick, an action comedy noir based on the graphic novel series.
Jackass‘ Johnny Knoxville is attached as a producer.
Created by B. Clay Moore and Steven Griffin, Hawaiian Dick follows Byrd, a cop who gets involved in the crime and supernatural world of 1950s Hawaii.
Initially, New Line Cinema was developing the comic for a feature film starring Knoxville, but the project never took off.
Paul Lovett and David Elliot are writing the script for the TV adaptation.
