Airing on The CW on Monday nights, Jane the Virgin has received some of the best reviews of the season. Will the show’s ratings reflect the positive response? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Jane the Virgin revolves around a driven 23-year-old woman (Gina Rodriguez) who’s studying to become a teacher, nursing a dream to be a writer, and supporting herself with a job at a hot new Miami hotel. Her world is turned upside down when she becomes pregnant — without ever having sex. The rest of the cast includes Andrea Navedo, Justin Baldoni, Yael Grobglas, Brett Dier, Ivonne Coll, and Jaime Camil.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically the following morning, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
1/11 update: Jane the Virgin and seven other shows have been renewed for the 2015-16 season.
Final season averages: 0.48 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.20 million total viewers.

These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like Jane the Virgin TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Love it!!! It’s funny and has a good storyline. Renew it!!
I love JTV! I’ve already bought 2 episodes and downloaded the free one. They don’t count the people who buy the show either. I do agree it is on the wrong network and maybe ABC or CBS should of picked it up because it has a diverse demo and then the ratings would be much higher. Hope it gets renewed. Its my new favorite show.
I love it!! It should definantly NOT be cancelled I’m like literally so obsessed with this show. It has a great storyline and the cast is well chosen. I hate Mondays but with this show I actually count down to Mondays. Absolutely fantastic!! 5+++ star rating.
LOL. Notice how all the “I love the show. Renew it!” sound the same? All from the same person connected with the show trolling these sites to try to generate buzz. The sad truth is that the show has shed audience in five out of the six airings subsequent to the pilot. It’s a dead cowboy that will finish the season averaging a .3 in the demo and 800,000 viewers. Critical acclaim is not enough to keep a show on the air that can’t even attract a million viewers. Even for the CW, that’s flatlining.
If anyone is the troll its you. Why are you even looking at the ratings when you clearly couldn’t care less whether or not the show gets renewed? The CW hasn’t had a good show since Gossip Girl and JTV comes pretty darn close. So the ratings are low. Then again, the season hasn’t fully aired yet and this “buzz” is what gets other people interested in watching the show.
The problem is this show is on the wrong network. CW generally supports shows without a lot of depth to the characters or story lines. Jane the Virgin has too much intrigue for CW.
Love Jane the Virgin… It should NOT be cancelled!!!
Love this show! Renew!!!
Renew it!! I love this show!! Keep it around!
I love this show! Please renew it!!!!
Please keep this show around! I love it!
I love jane the virgin, it is hilarious and sweet, it’s a great show and acting. I love the suspense in each episode, it’s a fast pace show, so many stories, and curve balls. Each episode better than the next! Finially a well scripted show on the CW, I never watch CW and my AT&T uverise does not carry that channel, so I watch it on CW online, but I actually called to request that channel. Do not cancel give it time, or sell it to another network, it has great potentional but it’s on the CW so no one… Read more »
Love this show. It’s clever and funny. Keep the show going. I watch it on Hulu. Ratings don’t show those numbers.
Omg I love this show I’m so hooked I just wish it was on every day I really do hope it goes on to a second season 🙂
Erin,
I don’t think the CW would get the ratings wrong, you don’t get ratings that terrible wrong!!!!
America don’t always watch quality, they are a people who like things to be as dumbed down as possible. See most CBS comedies are examples.
quality and network television are words that have never gone together in my mind. TV is for turning your brain off and wasting an hour or so. If I want quality and enlightenment it is reading and documentaries etc not network drivel.
Well Said…
i love this show so much and it deserves a second season i think the cw network got the raitings wrong for Jane the Virgin i saw the episodes and it should’ve got 0.9 and a lot higher raitings
