What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Netflix paid subscription platform, The Kominsky Method stars Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin with Nancy Travis, Sarah Baker, and Susan Sullivan. Season one guest stars include Lisa Edelstein, Emily Osment, Graham Rogers, Danny Devito, Ann-Margret, Jay Leno, Patti LaBelle, and Ashleigh LaThorpe. A former star, Sandy Kominsky (Douglas) is now a respected acting coach. Impeccably dressed, Norman Newlander (Arkin) is his best friend and longtime agent. Sandy and Norman keep each other laughing as they navigate the ups and downs of getting older in Los Angeles, a city that worships youth and beauty.
The Kominsky Method has been renewed for a second season which will debut October 25, 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.

Unless they decide to publicize viewership, it is difficult to predict whether Netflix will cancel or renew The Kominsky Method for season two. As long as the stars want to continue, I think it will be renewed. For now, I’ll keep an eye on the trades and press releases and update this page with breaking developments. This show is one of the best my husband and I have seen on Netflix. We’re in the demographic portrayed, so the aging issues in the show are actually part of our lives. It’s great to see them treated as comedy; laughing about these things is so much better than moaning and whining about them. And the acting is stellar—or maybe there’s not so much “acting” involved, as these talented folk are probably confronting these issues in their own lives. This is a fantastic series. Friends told us about how they could not just watch one at a time.
Boy, they were right. Hard to pull away and so many real life laughs and issues. Netflix please release season 2.
I really do like this show – the actors, the writing, the plot lines – that is right up until the last one or two episodes. I think it went from funny/serious to depressing with talk of Norman wanting to commit suicide. No one has to agree with me (so don’t be mean if you have a different opinion), it’s just the way I feel about it. I hope it is renewed and if so, I hope they ditch that whole plot and move on from there.
Great series, with excellant writing and acting. Very witty and real, with a lot of twists and turns. I love the style of filming, with the short clips, and a look into the comical reality of aging, even for the rich. I watched the entirety in one evening. They have to do a season 2, 3, 4, etc!
