Looks like Lucifer Morningstar isn’t quite a lucky devil any longer. His show’s ratings have fallen year after year and so, FOX has cancelled its Lucifer TV show. Sadly, fans of the supernatural crime drama won’t be seeing a fourth season this fall.
A FOX comedy-drama, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases.
Lucifer: A Look at the Ratings
The third season of Lucifer is averaging a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. While those declines aren’t huge, the series has seen dips in its ratings each season and the series could easily have been cancelled before. Apparently, the ratings dipped just a bit too low.
Out of the scripted FOX TV shows we’re tracking, Lucifer ranks 13th in terms of its demo performance and rises to 10th place in terms of average total audience size.
Lucifer showrunner Joe Henderson broke the bad news this afternoon.
So… yeah. #Lucifer has been cancelled. And it fucking HURTS. I loved this show so damn much and everyone put their heart and soul into it. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to describe.

The defacto series finale airs Monday, May 14th.
What do you think? Did you think FOX would renew Lucifer for season four? Are you sorry that the network has cancelled this Monday night series?
They should have ******* renewed it I’m distraught
This show and the exorcist were the only two shows we watched on fox. No reason to watch it otherwise. Getting tired of the fluffy tv shows . American tv is mind numbing , no long term plots and bad writing. Tired of all the cooking shows and medicine based tv. Better quality tv can be found in Britain and Australia.
I’m so saddened that they took off a great show. We will never know what happens with Lucifer and Chloe Decker. Gees. You couldn’t let them finish this ending. UGH I will never watch Fox anymore. That was a great show
It is really sad. I love the show. Hate it ehen all the series I like always get cancelled.
Very disappointed. Loved this show!
Every time I find a show that is interesting, it gets cancelled. Don’t know what networks are thinking. Unusual shows like Supernatural have been on for years, yet a unique show like Lucifer gets canned quickly. At least make the finale a good one, and don’t just leave us hanging.
It’s the only show I watch on Fox so please don’t cancel. Lucifer is light hearted, a little devilish and sweet, unlike any other show anywhere.
I totally agree with you
I really like sitting down to the show Lucifer it’s so much fun and a great cast of stars. The stories are awesome from one week to the next and I can’t wait to watch more. Then today I heard it was being cancelled I really wish you would reconsider keeping it going.
Thanks For Listening,
Rebecca ❤️
How disappointing really cant believe it. Feel like we should not bother to watch series shown on Fox as there is no point when they just decide to cancel shows when ever it suits them.
It needed to return to it’s earlier, darker edge that it lost along the way.
Still enjoyed it though.
I really enjoyed this show. If it’s canceled, I blame the writers. They could have done so much better with their stories! I hope there is some way that it can be revived.
These are tough times for a lot of us and Lucifer was a wonderful, fun escapist show that let the audience root for an nontraditional hero. It was a fun show from episode one straight to the last. It just stinks that “the last” doesn’t seem anywhere near where it should be…many seasons from now.
You stuck Fox. That is a great show. Tired of these networks cancelling perfectly good series time and again.
One of only 3 decent shows on TV. PLEASE DON’T CANCEL!!!!
To be clear, they’re cancelling it because ratings are going down, rather than counting how many people actually watch it. They’re keeping shows with smaller audiences because the percentage change is minimal.
This narrow focus to ascertain which shows to keep, and which to toss is why I stopped watching ABC. Time to stop watching fox, too.
