What’s This TV Show About?
A CBS detective drama, Magnum PI is an updated reboot of the 1980s Tom Selleck vehicle. The new action-adventure series stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephn Hill, Tim Kang, and Amy Hill. It centers on former Navy SEAL Thomas Magnum (Hernandez), who is back from Afghanistan and working as a private investigator. Magnum lives in a guest cottage on the Robin’s Nest estate in Oahu, where he also serves as security consultant. With his team at the ready, a vintage Ferrari at his disposal, and his trademark aviator sunglasses, Magnum is always ready to crack the next case.
Season One Ratings

Telly’s Take
Will CBS cancel or renew Magnum PI for season two? Considering how many people tuned out after watching the premiere of lead-in Young Sheldon, things didn’t look good, right from the start. The numbers have declined since then but I think CBS really wants to renew Magnum for a second season so they’ll give it every chance they can (including ordering a full first season). I really enjoy Magnum as I did the original series!! I especially enjoy the on-location filming in our beautiful state and the scenery in Hawaii!!! I would like to see more underwater footage as that is just as gorgeous
being a diver myself!!! Also, the plot scenarios are endless when taking advantage of the location!

I love the new Magnum. But I never know from week to week if it’s gonna be on. The disrespect CBS shows to both the show and it’s viewers with all the preemptions and time changes is monumental. I hope CBS will allow the show to settle in to a normal schedule for it’s next season.

I just don’t understand the way you think when you cancel the show Magnum PI the rookie so far great shows love them you could takeoff wouldn’t care but look forward to those shows wish there were more

GAWD AWFUL remake. Must everything be reduced to CW-like production values so the kids will watch? Flush this one.
Did not think would like the remake. But have enjoyed as much as the original. Better story lines more emotion. Keep series.

Great show! Love the scenery! Love the writing! Love the acting! For the dysfunctional bores out there! Get a life! Why would you want to compare one series against another! It is entertainment not a competition!
Brilliant series, couldn’t have asked for a better version, even better than the previous Magnum PI. Characters all play a good part. This series is a family series, and teaches us how to treat our close friends and families, apart from that, it teaches us how to behave in the real world. It would be a real shame if this series was cancelled.
