What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the HBO cable channel, the Mare of Easttown TV series stars Kate Winslet, Julianne Nicholson, Jean Smart, Angourie Rice, Evan Peters, Guy Pearce, Cailee Spaeny, David Denman, John Douglas Thompson, Patrick Murney, James McArdle, Sosie Bacon, Joe Tippett, and Neal Huff. In the story, Mare Sheehan (Winslet) is a small-town Pennsylvania detective with 20 years of experience and a jaded demeanor. She investigates a local murder while trying to keep her own life from falling apart. Mare finds herself paired up with a young hotshot detective — Colin Zabel (Peters) — sent by the county to assist on the case. Mare is still feeling the repercussions of her broken marriage which followed her son’s suicide. She’s trying to raise her grandson with the help of her own mother, Helen (Smart). Mare also tries to convince her daughter, Siobhan (Rice), to chase her dreams so she can get out of Easttown one day. Meanwhile, Mare’s ex-husband, Frank (Denman), has bought the house behind her home (in an attempt to have a friendly divorce) and is now engaged to his new girlfriend.

Mare of Eastown is a phenomenal show. The acting is head and shoulders above much of broadcast, cable, and streaming content. I believe there may be enough material for a second mini series and I would love it.

This show was gritty without being obscene, realistic without being devicive, the characters were complicated and believable, unexpectedly compelling. The plot of the story depicted characters with realistic emotions complicated by peer pressure and gossip. Finally a show with substance, I hope the writers can find a way to continue the series. I only signed up for HBO to watch it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Did you even watch season 1? This is not a mini series. Episode 4 was a cliff hanger , not an ending in any way of anything set forth in the plot so far. So unless Ms Winslett decides to jump ship or the powers that be decide not enough people watched this show, there has to be a second season to solve the three crimes currently being investigated by Mare.
Yes! More seasons please. Great cast led by an incomparable Kate Winslet, cool moody vide, all around excellent show.
