CBS hasn’t announced that Medium has been cancelled but, while attending an event last weekend, Patricia Arquette said that the show will indeed be ending this season.
Like her character, series star Arquette can indeed see the future. Now, Medium creator Glenn Gordon Caron has confirmed that the drama is finished. Of the last episode, Caron wrote, “Allison Dubois will dream her last dream on Medium Friday, January 21st. In what we believe will be a series defining episode, Allison and her family will stare destiny in the eye. And destiny will not blink.”
The ratings for Medium have taken a real hit this season. Despite frequently winning its timeslot, the drama has averaged a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.41 million viewers. CBS reduced the number of episodes to just 13 as a result.
What do you think? How would you like to see Medium end? Should some of the characters die or should Allison lose her abilities? How about Joe and Allison finally getting a good night’s sleep?

So sad to hear the show is coming to an end. I really look forward to Friday nights so I can watch Medium. I hope that CBS rethinks this.
Why did they change it to Friday night if that changed the ratings? They should consider changing it to another night to see how the ratings would change! There is wonderful acting and writing in the series – nothing matches this show, nor has it ever! It is very original and it also involves the whole family having more than one plot, which makes for excellent writing! The girls are also go along with this theme so well, that it makes it believable. I know alot of people who watch this and will be very disappointed with CBS— this is… Read more »
I am so upset they are cancelling Medium , It is one of the best shows out there. What are they replacing it with some reality show, I am soooo sick of reality shows
I’m not too sad about this. A little, yeah. But not terribly. I love the show and watch it every week, but it’s probably a good decision to kill the show now. First, it’ll get a finale, which is awesome in my opinion. So many shows end with cliffhangers and you have no idea how they’re supposed to end. It’s always better when a show ends this way. Second, it is very rare that a show gets past 5 years without turning into crud. To have completed 7 seasons of great episodes is nothing less than astounding. It’s even more… Read more »
WOW….and they wonder why netflix and youtube gets stronger and stronger. THANKS!
With Ms. Dubois’s copyrighted books behind this show, it had a neat run, and no knockoffs. But, alas these writers have stalled. With all the hype today about the spooky South West, I’d have bet they could have knocked some balls clean out of the park. But, in the end, they were only dumb Southern Californians. But the next few years will show just how close they came to catching the future in a bottle. From the Hopi’s Blue Kachina, to the Navaho’s chants, which can open portals, they had all the chess pieces, but couldn’t get their brains out… Read more »
Please do not cancel this show it has provided years of entertainment for my famil and I.
I’m really mad right now. It does represent a typical family in a way, and that really has been one of my favorite TV Series. I hope that they will at least do a season 8. Please keep it on!
I like the show and will miss it
Nothing lasts forever.
Um I think CBS did not do something right as usual! Cancelling a show that brings in 7 million viewers on a friday night is moronic on their part, no show brings in heavy ratings on fridays, 7 million is still pretty good! even for a busy night! CBS like most other networks just don’t care what viewers like, good luck finding a show that will bring in the #’s on fridays! idiots.(CBS that is)
WHAT!!!!NO!!!! ILOVETHIS SHOW!!!!!
That finalizes my TV watching on Friday nights. I’ll miss Medium. They’re slowly but surely taking everything I watch away—and if that happens, then I’ll just quit watching TV all together. I can get enough things to watch on my computer and show them on my TV screen. So let them cut their own throats. I know I won’t miss the commercials.
I’m upset about it. It is and has been my favorite show since it started.
If enough people complain- maybe they will save it again. I never understood how you cancel a show when so many people love it.
I am very upset about this. I think it is a good quality show. I have loved it since the beginning. I will really miss them…Cheryle Grassetti
