Below, watch Mercy Street star, Josh Radnor, discuss his new Civil War era drama, with filmmaker Ken Burns. Burns’ television documentary mini-series, The Civl War first debuted on PBS in 1990. The six-part Mercy Street TV series premieres on PBS, Sunday, January 17, at 10:00pm ET/PT, after Downton Abbey.

Based on real life events, Mercy Street is set in Union-occupied Alexandria, Virginia. The cast includes: Radnor,  Mary Elizabeth Winstead,  Gary Cole,  Peter Gerety, Norbert Leo Butz, McKinley Belcher III, Shalita Grant, and Hannah James. Cherry Jones guest stars as Dorothea Dix.
