As fans have been suspecting for quite awhile, the Mike & Molly TV show is being cancelled. There won’t be a seventh season but the sixth season of 13 episodes has been scheduled to start airing on January 6th on CBS.
Co-star Rondi Reed shared the details of the cancellation in a Facebook post:
Before you hear it elsewhere (and some already have) this is the Final and 6th Season of MIKE & MOLLY on CBS. It is also a shortened season (13 episodes) after the announced full renewal of 22 episodes back in March by the network.
We are done taping as of January 27th 2016 and I am not sure exactly when/if the episodes will all be aired. The network has it’s reasons, and I will not get into a debate, discussion, or campaign to get them to change their minds.
Other venues were explored by WB and Bonanza Productions (Chuck Lorre) after CBS announced their intentions, but did not turn up a future for our show. It is a fact and we have known for a few weeks.
I remain extremely grateful to have been a part of this and to have worked with a fabulous bunch of folks over the years. I have learned a lot about many things, including the Business we call Show.
Also grateful for all the fans and for the personal support I have received over the (almost) 6 seasons. Stewart Talent has guided me every step of the way on this journey and for that I am also forever grateful.
What do you think? Do you think that Mike & Molly should be cancelled? Would you have watched a seventh season on another channel?
I can not believe they cancelled M+M. Best comedy on TV. Kept trash 2 broke girls survivor and amazing race. Go figure
EXACTLY – TWO BROKE GIRLS IS A HORRIBLE SHOW. How could you cancel Mike & Molly & leave this on ???
You buried the show…kept changing times. Kept it off for weeks, then cancelled. Ridiculous! Up until this season, it has been a great show. A huge mistake to cancel!
Mike and Molly is the best comedy on tv!! EVERYBODY on that show is funny!! Go to another network if necessary. Just keep them on!! We need great comedy to help us get through the horror that is Trump. !!!!
why take mike and molly off when their doing so well.best comedy on tv
I am sure you had your reasons for cancelling Mike and Molly .It is my favorite show.Have to tell you that you are wrong I am hoping another station.picks it up.I watch all of the reruns.
MIke and Molly never should have been cancelled. It is my most favorite comedy on TV. I not only would have watched the 7th season, I would have watched it on any channel. Sorry to see it go, and thank you for all the endless laughs at the end of some very busy days. Once again, CBS you disappoint and show little, if any, respect for your viewers. CBS use to be my favorite station, but no more.
Why is the show being cancelled! Best comedy show on TV. I watch the reruns every night.
In the past the networks have periodically chosen to cancel popular, well done family sitcoms, in favor of much less desirable fare. This is not new, but continues to confound. I would love to hear an explanation!
CBS is so full of **** but still claims that it’s reputable. The app is a joke and All Access is worse than a Ponzi scene. None of the other networks charge fees for on demand. CBS isn’t worth the airways it occupies. Cancel Survivor or American Race or my favorite, the MTV knockoff, Big Brother while you’re at it.
is a loyal audience better for you, CBS, than ratings . . . really . . . . really???
RENEW
Great sitcom with excellent cast. Chuck Lorre is the best sitcom writer in the business!
And I just read someone else’s remark and he mentioned helping marriages from afar and he’s right. That’s is another one of the pros to keeping “Mike and Molly” on… It’s just a great show all around and you really are upsetting too many people… If you are worried about Molly losing the weight, throw into the script that she had to lose it so she would be healthier to have their baby… How can you end a great show when we ALL want to see how Mike is as a dad, because his Sad left at 16. And Molly… Read more »
I am completely disappointed in CBS. The Mike and Molly show has brought nothing but laughter, tears and family into everyone’s home. Shame on you CBS because this was one of the best shows you’ve had in a long time. I’m positive it helped over weight people see that they can live a happy life and have good jobs and work on themselves with family and friends to support them. And the cast couldn’t have been more perfect to go with their characters. You have made a huge mistake by doing this and I WAS a big fan of CBS… Read more »
EVERYONE wants the show to continue. Is CBS THAT STUPD to realize it?
