CBS is usually quite tight-lipped about what they have planned for their upcoming seasons. If you take a look at our list of CBS cancelled/renewed shows, you’ll see that even many of their strongest shows haven’t been renewed yet.
Over the weekend, the NY Times ran an article on all of the networks’ needs for fresh ideas, especially after having so many failures this season. As part of that, the article states that CBS “will bring back Mike and Molly, Hawaii Five-0, and Blue Bloods from this season.”
CBS hasn’t confirmed this information but, considering it’s the NY Times, one has to assume that the authors did their due diligence. Since all three of them have been successful for CBS, renewals certainly aren’t a surprise.
Interestingly, the article don’t mention CBS’ other freshman bubble show, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. That series has underperformed for the network so very easily could be cancelled. If it does come back, word is that it will be retooled.
The article also states that CBS execs are still trying to decide whether to cancel one of the CSI series in favor of picking up a new series, Persons of Interest.
CBS holds their advertiser upfront presentation on Wednesday afternoon. You can keep up with the comings and goings by bookmarking and checking this list.

I don’t if I missed some, but the last H5O episode was when the governor was killed?
Richard » Yes. She was killed in the season finale.
To those who quit 5-0: Give it another shot. The General Pak episode might be the dumbest episode of anything I’ve seen in years but recent episodes have been much better. The finale absolutely rocked. It had some surprises and was very well done.
gracias por continuar con blue blood, es una serie excelente! aca en Mexico tiene mucho
exito! saludos
Finally, a network gets it right ! H50 is a very good show…Mike and Molly is so funny, and Blue Bloods, well it is just one of the best shows ever ! Thank You for finally keeping some good shows !
Not a fan of H5o, but happy to hear Blue Bloods returning for another season, I have always enjoyed Tom Selleck and the characters he portrays. Blue Bloods is a family favorite. I personally find Mike and Molly a show to stash all the fat jokes ever told, which gets old fast. I liked Suspect Behavior better than the original Criminal Minds, and hope it survives the serial killer of good programming.
Didnt you guys say Hawaii 5-0 was basically doomed? I stopped watching! Oh well. Not surprised about Blue Bloods though. Good for them. And good for Alex O’ Loughlin while I’m at it, the guy’s kinda jinxed.
Cel » Nope. The ratings kept falling and we said it was doomed if they kept going. They evened off but still weren’t great. To give you an idea, H50 has the same average as Bleep My Dad Says — which was cancelled.
mike and molly isnt even funny its terrible
Come on!! Mike and Molly?! REALLY? AND THEY CANCELLED $#*! MY DAD SAYS?! THIS IS A TRAGEDY! Psyched for Hawaii 5-0 and Blue Bloods, though.
Well at least they renewed those shows.
