As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like NCIS: Hawai’i is cancelled or renewed for season two. A CBS procedural drama, the NCIS: Hawai’i TV series is the latest entry in the NCIS franchise and stars Vanessa Lachey, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Jason Antoon, Noah Mills, Tori Anderson, Kian Talan, and Alex Tarrant. Jane Tennant (Lachey) is the first female Special Agent in Charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor. She has thrived and risen through the ranks by equal parts confidence and strategy in a system that has pushed back on her every step of the way. Her unwavering team of specialists includes junior field agent Lucy Tara (Al-Bustami); cyber intelligence specialist Ernie Malik (Antoon); second-in-command Jesse Boone (Mills); Defense Intelligence Agency Special Agent Kate Whistler (Anderson); and Kai Holman (Tarrant), a new NCIS agent. Tennant and her team balance duty to family and country while investigating high-stakes crimes involving military personnel, national security, and the mysteries of the island paradise itself.

*4/1/2022 update: NCIS: Hawaii has been renewed for a second season on CBS.
I loved all 3 of the NCIS shows, but was bored and uninterested 20 minutes into the premiere of NCIS HAWAII. I am a woman but the show reeked of too much woman power right from the get go. The IT guy is boring and nothing to look at either. I ended up deleting the rest of the first part and didn’t bother watching part two. Other people I know were very disappointed as well.
Unlike the other NCIS shows this one doesn’t show any type of family between the characters. I don’t get a strong sense of leadership from the main character. To me the show was designed to reach certain groups of people and not the full audience. My wife and I would have preferred more of the actors from Hawaii 5 O and NCIC NO.
worst show — tried to watch the 2nd episode but it was awful like the first one
not the same cancel it really a woman playing mark harmon’s character film makers need to stop
Really loved it! I can’t wait for the next show.
NCIS Hawaii was terrible Bad actors I will not watch
Was not good. Love the other NCIS’, but not this one at all. Was hoping it would help heal missing Hawaii five oh.
NCIS NO was 100 times better than this, shame it was canceled.
I’m a fan of the other NCIS shows, but not this one. Some of the characters didn’t seem real—the 2 women in charge seemed too young for their positions, especially the one who’s in charge of intel. Too much emphasis on featuring Hawaiian culture, when mostly it’s actually pretty mainstream there except in tourist resorts.
Boring…Dull…I give it a MINUS 1
Hard to follow the plot
What am AWFUL SHOW. I’ve been to Hawaii 5 times & this show was NOT representative of the local population. The writers attempted to add realism by using some of the Hawaiian language & FAILED MISERABLY. The dialog was spoken so fast the viewer missed most of the conversations… then toss in some local phrases or slang and the viewer COULD NOT FOLLOW OR UNDERSTAND THE PLOT!….Ridiculous & annoying! After awhile it seemed as if the writers & producers were MAKING FUN OF THE LOCAL HAWAIIAN TRADITIONS & LANGUAGE. SEASON 1 & DONE
It’s just fiction. Like Hawaii 50, real life in Hawaii is not like that either. I lived in Hawaii, it’s just a show. It takes a few episodes for everyone to settle into the roles and smooth out the show.
I thought it stunk
I swear they said at the end of NCIS that NCIS Hawai’i premieres Sunday September 26th.
I am going to vote it down for this.
I enjoyed the pilot. I’ll give it a try. NCIS &NCIS LA are on my watch list. I just couldn’t get into the New Orleans show, not sorry to see it gone.
Horrible pilot. We will NOT WATCH!!
