Last year, despite being harder to find (thanks to varying football game times), the NCIS: Los Angeles TV show earned just about the same demo numbers it did in the year prior, while its total viewership increased by over 17%. Not too many shows grow like that, this far into the game. Can it continue on that track in the ninth season? Will NCIS: Los Angeles be cancelled or renewed for season 10? Stay tuned.
A military police procedural, NCIS: Los Angeles stars Chris O’Donnell, LL Cool J, Linda Hunt, Daniela Ruah, Eric Christian Olsen, Barrett Foa, Renée Felice Smith, and Nia Long. The CBS action drama centers on the high-stakes NCIS division charged with apprehending those elusive criminals who threaten the nation’s security. Working undercover with advanced technology, these highly trained agents readily risk their lives to bring down their targets.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/21 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The eighth season of NCIS: Los Angeles on CBS averaged a 1.31 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.124 million total viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the NCIS: Los Angeles TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a 10th season on CBS?
4/18/18 update: CBS has renewed NCIS: Los Angeles for season 10 for the 2018-19 broadcast season. Details here.
Bring Hetty back! The team is great the way they are. Nia Long is ruining the show. Go back to the way the show has been before everyone stops watching. I won’t watch any longer if Nia stays
Hetty is coming back. Nia Long was really hired to fill the role Miguel Ferrer was in. Nia will leave if she gets a better offer after this season.
Please lets hope she gets a better offer, or this faithful viewer will no longer be watching! The rest of the cast is superb.
I would like to watch this show but the clicking shutter like ending and beginning all breaks and pauses causes me seizures, I cant watch that, they should really make a new one,
Thank god, the ratings are on the 1 level, more than 8 mio watchers and above all that, viewervotes are in the top20!
We do NOT like the new boss, if Hetty returns we will once again be fans as we really enjoy the other cast members. Hetty is the wisest leader, plus she has the perfect balance between hard and soft.
I think it should be renewed, altho the two new characters on sho dont fit it well. The main core of team mates do great as always. Im a USMC veteran and love the show.KEEP IT ANOTHER YEAR
I’m sick of the bad new boss stories, but I wonder if it’s the real reason y’all hate on the two new characters.
What’s that suppose to mean?
http://www.showbuzzdaily.com has them, but you have to look every day and keep track of them yourself. They don’t keep track of every week like this wonderful site does of the 18-49 ratings.
Fortunately for this show, it is judged by its 24-54 ratings, not its 18-49 ratings. I don’t know how its +3 and +7 ratings have been the whole season, but the 18-49 live ratings are a DISASTER. I like this show, but the constant moving around with the time slot is hurting it.
Where can I find those 24-54 ratings, worthymagic?
You can find them on showbuzzdaily, but you have to look every single week. They do not compile them. You will have to do that on your own. This site keeps track of 18-49 week to week, and everyone should be grateful that they do.
i like that there was the change of having Nia Long because even though its just a show this is more realistic, dont get me wrong hetty was good but not to sound mean but a 72yr old wouldnt be running any task force, renew NCIS LA and NCIS New Orleans
please do what you can to persuade CBS to move it back to following 60 Min..that dud Jeremy Piven show is killing it, along w the Hetty not being on….why are they doing this to this really good show
its only okay now they gotta stop trying to be funny and theres to much about kensi and deeks relationship focus mostly on the case and thats why
NCIS New Orleans is so much better
I love the interactions between Deeks and Kensi…… sometimes in life its good to have a little laugh when there is so much bad in the world. If we want all serious bad news about crime, we just watch any local news — for example, nothing funny about the recent stuff that happened in NYC. Relax and just enjoy the show.
I too love the interactions of Densi, but like Kevin I do feel the balance between funny interactions and the seriousness in the show is somewhat shifted to the funpart. I miss the seriousness and adult parts from the past seasons, like season 4 and 5. It would probably help getting the rates back above the 1 note.
keep it on forever w the same cast (excluding the two new characters)..bring back Adm Chedwick to replace Granger
also, bring Hetty back full time interacting w the other characters…that is the strength of the show…we need to hear more of her stories, like when she ran Nicaragua for 48 hrs one time…
Granger passed away beginning of this year heart stroke very sad boss is still on show.
I forgot to mention Deeks, and he is terrific!
Yes, Deeks is terrific….. and he is so good looking! Love him…
I love NCIS:LA with the fervor I used to feel for the original NCIS. The characters inspire loyalty, especially Hetty, Kensi, Nell, Eric, Sam and Callen. I was sorry to lose Granger, with the death of Mr. Ferrer. That was a true loss, and he will be sorely missed. I am a little worried, in that NCIS:LA is falling victim to the same misogyny as the original NCIS. So far, they have killed off Hunter, and now Michelle Hanna. The original operations manager, Lara Macy was killed on the original NCIS. Someone running that show is compelled to kill off… Read more »
To be honest, I am quit satisfied with those ratings. If you check the last 5 ratings from season 8, a serious decline…. last demo in seas 8, 1,1. today… 1.2. It’s a good start. Hope the demo rating while show a further rise……
Well, demo ratings 1.3 is even better, Nice start.
please bring ratings people i know late last night give chance, Hawaii five-0 and Macgver too need more please beg you people watch before like me so good intense action.
Seriously hate this shows comment don’t not like please one of my favorite shows and macgver awesome.
Definitely renew!
