Gibbs and his team will be back for the 2021-22 television season. CBS has renewed the NCIS TV series for a 19th season on the network.
Airing on Tuesday nights, the NCIS TV show stars Mark Harmon, Sean Murray, Emily Wickersham, Wilmer Valderrama, Maria Bello, Brian Dietzen, Diona Reasonover, Rocky Carroll, and David McCallum. On the series, NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Harmon), a former Marine gunnery sergeant whose skills as an investigator are unmatched, leads a highly skilled and colorful group of professionals who investigate crimes that have connections to the Navy or Marine Corps.
The 18th season of NCIS averages a 0.86 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 9.71 million viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season 17, that’s down by 23% in the demo and down by 17% in viewership. In the traditional ratings, the show ranks third out of this season’s 24 scripted CBS series.
While NCIS has been renewed, it’s unclear how many episodes will include Harmon. Word is that still being worked out and it seems likely that he won’t be in all of them.
Fellow Tuesday night shows FBI and FBI: Most Wanted have already been renewed. Today, the network also renewed Blue Bloods (season 12), Bull (season six), Magnum PI (season four), and SWAT (season five).

I thought this season was well written. More story yet to be told.
Mark Harmon being absent from even ONE future episode of the original “NCIS” means there’ll be NO ONE who has appeared in every single episode of the original “NCIS” by the time its run ends.:( I think, because of Mr. Harmon’s reduced presence on “NCIS”, I wouldn’t mind if it ended at season 20, like “Gunsmoke” and the original “Law & Order”, even if it remains the top drama on CBS at that point. But before then, one more full-season of 24 episodes, please, once this COVID-19 situation clears up?

We need Mark Harmon please bring him back!!!
NCIS would not be the same without Mark Harmon. The episodes are not as good when he is not around. Bring back Michael Weatherly. Bull is not a good show at all. He has no pizzazz in that show!
Glad Marc Harmon has signed on for another year as I would miss him. But has the tv network even considered renewing the show without Marc in it. Wouldn’t the rest of the crew be able to carry it? I certainly think so. I would love to see NCIS carryon with the current players carrying on the show.
Was so very disappointed with the cancellation of NCIS NO as I really liked that show and not really looking forward to NCIS Hawaii. The current three NCIS should be kept and no new spin-offs happening!
The show won’t be the same if Gibbs were to not be in it. He is the heart of the show.
So happy NCIS is coming back. Life without Gibbs just wouldn’t be the same.
Don’t know how it will go without Mark Harmon
I’m glad NCIS has been renewed even though I like NCIS LA much more. I will miss Mark Harmon, but I think the other actors will be able to carry the show. Ducky hasn’t been on recently and Palmer does fine in his place.
I’m glad NCIS has been renewed. I much prefer BULL. All the stories are new & fresh & the attorney is great! Hope they stay on as long as NCIS.
It’s one of my favorite shows and I been with it since it beginning. I HOPE MARK DOESN’T LEAVE IT WOULD NOT BE THE SAME.
I am glad the show has been renewed. This is my favorite show and I have been a fan since the beginning and look forward to it every week (even if it is a rerun of a previous show).
I think the show should go a minimum of 2 years. If the show goes on as McGee as the next leader then maybe longer
Bull has low ratings. Cancel Bull and bring back Tony as the new leader.
