The Night Shift will air on NBC this summer, and a new actor has been added to the cast. Mark Consuelos will have a recurring role on the drama.
TV Line shared the following about Consuelos’ role on the NBC drama:
“His character, Cain, is described as a highly confident and aggressive travel nurse who emigrated to the U.S. from Mexico.”
What does the casting mean for Pitch on FOX? The series has not yet been renewed for a second season, and a decision will be made next month, per previous comments from the network:
“We were very proud of Pitch. We would’ve loved to have seen a bigger audience. [It] had a loyal core. I don’t think the performance level enabled us to make an early decision about it, but as we get to May, we’re certainly going to consider it.”

I totally LOVE “Pitch” I really hope it is renewed!!
I loved the shoe pitch, but I wish it showed alot more ball playing . I hope they bring it back, it had a great cast.
Pitch is a fantastic sports drama with an amazing cast and if it was given the opportunity to gain some traction especial with season 2, even better adding additional episodes in season two FOX would stand a great chance of turning this show into a big time contender, you can’t expect a brand new series with only a small amount of episodes to have any type of significant traction coming out the gate. yes I love Night Shift and can’t wait for it to come back on. I’m happy to see Mark Consuelos on the show as well. I also loved him in Pitch and hope that comes back as well, and I also like him in Queen of the South so hope to see him back on that show as well…
