What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, The Orville stars Seth MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Halston Sage, J Lee, Mark Jackson, Chad L. Coleman, Norm Macdonald, Larry Joe Campbell, Victor Garber, Brian George, and Rachael MacFarlane. In 2417, Ed Mercer (Seth MacFarlane) is promoted to captain The U.S.S. Orville, with the assistance of First Officer Kelly Grayson (Palicki). Unfortunately, she’s his ex-wife, and her presence acts as a bridle on his enthusiasm. Whether facing off with the Krill, a dangerous alien race, or attempting rescues on behalf of the Planetary Union, the human and alien crew still must deal with their mundane issues and each other.
Season One Ratings
The first season of The Orville averaged a 1.24 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.33 million viewers. Find out how The Orville stacks up against the other FOX TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Although it premiered with very good numbers, the first two episodes were scheduled to air after NFL double-headers on Sunday evenings, which is a great lead-in. The show regularly airs on Thursdays when it’s tougher to attract an audience. While the numbers saw a big drop in the new timeslot, they are still good enough to earn a second season on FOX. I really like the show….I’m hoping to see a Season 2 (and an Episode 7!)

First and foremost, I would like to say, those who do not like or no longer wish to see the show ever so kind to change the channel. No one says have to watch. Please do not help ruin fan chances of further seasons, thank you. As per the show itself…love, love, love. I have loved Seth MacFarlane since his career inception and Star Trek since I watched my very first episode of captain Kirk re-runs at the young of 5. Since the scheduled time of Thursday, 10/19/17 has come and gone with no Episode 7, do I hear the bell tolling for Orville, half way through Season 1??? Just because 18-29 year olds don’t get it, doesn’t mean it should be axed.
I hope this program gets picked up again. The main problem for me is that where I am located, I cannot get a signal from FOX to watch the show at home. I have to come in and watch it at my local library online. I very much like the Sci-Fi portions of it but also appreciate the more common human comedy one liners based on real issues of today. My husband and I enjoy Orville and love the tongue and cheekiness of it. Seth is giving us a big wink, while at the same time, providing good story lines and character development. I hope Fox is smart enough to give this series time to develop. We are in our 50s and don’t watch much TV, so we hope it stays around.

I love the Orville…I grew up on Star Trec and love the humerous spin of the Orville… I think it will develop into a great serie…just needs little more action..like the human side too

Please let this show stay on the air, even if it’s not hilarious,its a little funny and awesome as far as following in star trek:Next gen. It was an amazing show and this follows close to it with 21st century graphics. We needed this show to be on air
This is one of the best shows on right now, the perfect amount of sci-fi and humor. This show is a keeper!!
Great to see this show on air. It will mature and find its grove into season 2 and beyond. Lets hope for a 7 season run!
I love this show, It is excellent and gets better each week….Renew
