The little sitcom that caused a lot of controversy last summer has quietly ended its run. NBC has cancelled Outsourced after one season on the air.
Outsourced follows a US sales manager, Todd Dempsey (Ben Rappaport), who’s assigned to supervise his company’s call center in India. The sitcom also stars Anisha Nagarajan, Diedrich Bader, Parvesh Cheena, Pippa Black, Rebecca Hazelwood, Rizwan Manji, and Sacha Dhawan.
The NBC sitcom started out decently and it looked like NBC might have a keeper on its hands. Last September, Outsourced debuted to a 3.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.49 million viewers. In week two, the demo number fell 22% to a 2.8 rating and 5.85 million viewers but that was still pretty healthy by NBC standards.

Unfortunately, over the course of the season, the ratings just kept dwindling downward. The ratings have gone as low as a 1.4 in the demo with just 2.97 million viewers. Those are horrible numbers for a major network, even NBC.
Outsourced’s season currently averages a 2.1 demo rating and 4.55 million viewers. For NBC, that’s not too bad but the average is only that high because of the early season ratings.
It’s certainly not a shocker than NBC has cancelled Outsourced after just one season. The 22nd and final episode, titled “Rajiv Ties the Bharat, part two,” aired last night.
What do you think? Are you disappointed that there won’t be a second season of Outsourced? Why do you think the TV show didn’t catch on?

why did they cancelled a good , funny show !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NBC does it again. First they take the best drama ever on TV, American Dreams, and cancel it. Now they take the best comedy on TV since M*A*S*H, Outsourced, and cancel it, too. NBC gets an occasional gem, then pisses it away. What idiots. NBC deserves its fate.
WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME NBC???!!!! WWHHHHYY??!!!!!!! This is the first show since dexter that truly captivated me…And now its GONE!! I came online just to find out when the next season aired, and YOU LAY THIS ON ME!!!!
A really funny show, disappointing that they stopped it!
Yes, very dissapointed. This show was my favourite during its run. Other sitcoms that I watched (Community, Mike and Molly, The Big Bang Theory, Better with You) were not even close to Outsourced. I was really looking forward to more of Outsourced, too bad it’s not going to happen.
Terrible decision cancelling season 2.. The show has so much potential!!!
And I want to know what happens with Todd & Asha!
If given a more favorable hour it would been better on the ratings. That is why I stopped watching tv and use other sites as hulu. Chuck is absolutly boring series, why not cancelling that one.

Terrible decision, this was my favorite show and ended and fabulous Thurs line up – BIG Mistake – back to ABC I guess.
Hoping to have season 2.
Horrible decision! What an amazing show and I cannot believe this wouldn’t have a second season after being one of the most DVR’d prime time TV shows through the winter. Ugh!
I hope another network is able to pick it up and run with this sitcom.
The reason why this show’s ratings dropped is because NBC moved its time slot to. 10:30(9:30)c. Everyone who watched it for the first half of the season either went to bed or didn’t want to sit through parks and rec or 30 rock, because they are terrible. Maybe this will be one that is resurrected like Family Guy was on fox.
The show was hilarious. The controversy is much ado about nothing. My two Indian friends at work think it is great. They realize it pokes fun at everyone, including the Americans who buy those whoopie cushions from Mid America Novelties.
This show should have been given more time. It was AWESOME
Some people are criticizing outsourced falsely. They don’t have sense of humor!! Come on. Look into the bright side. I find the show very hilarious. Racism doesn’t even entered my mind.
My family and I absolutely loved this show and never missed a single episode! So sad to hear that it’s been cancelled 🙁 really hope that they will bring it back…
