What’s This TV Show About?
A USA Network legal and political drama, Pearson stars Gina Torres, Morgan Spector, Bethany Joy Lenz, Simon Kassianides, Eli Goree, Isabel Arraiza, and Chantel Riley, DB Woodside, and Betsy Brandt. The Suits spinoff centers on Jessica Pearson (Torres) who, after being disbarred, left New York City for the rough and tumble world of Chicago politics. Now she serves as the fixer for the Windy City’s working-class Mayor Bobby Novak (Spector), who is up for reelection. Jessica is just trying to reconcile her competitive nature and desire to win with her goal of doing the right thing.

Will USA Network cancel or renew Pearson for season two? The premiere drew much lower numbers than its lead-in, the ninth season premiere of Suits and subsequent episodes did even worse. It ended its season as USA’s lowest-rated scripted series so I don’t think there will be a second season. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. I really enjoyed this program! There are a lot of subplots and they left us hanging. Jessica Pearson also is inspiring as a woman who can hold her own and navigate in the system. She seems to be evolving from just being a manipulative Player to aperson with gifted skill sets to make a difference I think we need to Give this show a chance and develop it a bit more
Not as fast-paced as Suits, but a great program nonetheless. I love the dark, seedy world of Chicago politics…

Enjoyed Pearson Series, spin off from Suits! Jessica is a ball-buster and hoping the series will continue! Ratings must be pretty good if there is still no decision made to cancel it, just yet. It’s certainly worth another season. Hope they release the next season before October 2019, so we can find out about these characters. It’s interesting.

Pearson has NOT disappointed! As a matter of fact, I am THRILLED with the story line — 1) I was raised in Chicago and am quite familar with it’s checkered history from Capone, to his Honor, Richard J. Daley. 2) The MAJORITY of my 50-year career was in Criminal Legal Representation. 3) Pearson is a DIRECT correlation to my personal experience with defense representation of crime headliners in the 70’s and 80’s! 4) Jessica is the epitome of the elegance of a female partner at one of Chicago’s premier law firms in the 70’s who earned (at least with me)… Read more »
Great show – Jessica is a titan but Chicago is a much tougher town than NYC. I’d love to see the numerous interesting characters evolve. Hoping for a renewal!
I taped it but haven’t seen it yet so I have high hopes. I loved her on Suits.
I was quite impressed with the first show and hope the series continues. I really like Gina and am impressed with any part she has ever played.
