Pit Bulls & Parolees is returning for an18th season, but after 17 seasons on Animal Planet, the reality series is moving to Discovery Channel. The show about the largest Pit Bull rescue in the country will also air on Discovery+.
Discovery Channel revealed more about the renewal and the move of Pit Bulls & Parolees in a press release.
“Tia Torres is the heart of Villalobos Rescue Center, the largest Pit Bull rescue center in the U.S. For over 30 years, she and her family have gone above and beyond to give a second chance at life to pit bulls – dogs who have continually been demonized due to the reputation of their breed- and parolees. Now, in an all-new season of PIT BULLS & PAROLEES, new audiences and dedicated fans will be able to witness even more incredible stories of redemption and rescue with Tia and her Villalobos family in their never-ending battle to save man and man’s best friend. The new season of PIT BULLS & PAROLEES streams on discovery+ the definitive non-fiction, real-life subscription streaming service, and premieres on Discovery Channel Saturday, Apr. 3 at 8PM ET/ PT.
In the season’s premiere, the Villalobos Rescue Center crew is on a mission to catch a runaway dog, while daughter Mariah gets a creative idea for the parolees to design fundraising apparel. We’ll also see a family come all the way from sunny California in search of a new furry family member to share in their adventurous lifestyle.
Later this season, audiences will also meet other loving adoptees who travel from far and wide to give these dogs forever homes. We’ll see Tia as she visits a Mississippi shelter to give a hybrid wolf dog a second chance at life; daughter-in-law Lizzy as she leans on Tia for support in trying to find a work-life balance as a new mother of two; veteran tenant Lil Rocky as he faces a cancer scare and gets support from the Villalobos crew; and a pair of hearing-impaired dogs, Ben and Spike, who get the care they deserve. Audiences will also witness Tia as she gears up to revamp the Claiborne Warehouse when a hurricane heads straight for New Orleans.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of the Pit Bulls & Parolees TV series? Will you watch the new season on Discovery Channel?
Animal Planets loss as far as I’m concerned. I rarely watch it anymore due to them no longer broadcasting what they should be broadcasting, ANIMALS. And for all of you that are saying you can’t afford cable and streaming services, streaming is MUCH cheaper and you actually get the kind of programming you want. I’m about to lose my cable because I’m not going to continue to pay exorbitant ptoces for sh***y programming. Good luck to Tia, her family and the parolees on their new adventure. I can’t wait to see you on Disney plus!
I love this show, I’ve been watching since the start in CA but I’m very, very disappointed that I won’t be able to watch after season 18, as I can’t afford a subscription to Discovery +. Ilost my job due to COVID-19, but have a part-time job & at times it’s hard just to pay rent let alone buy a subscription, It’s just crappy!
I just pray that they are never canceled . I hope everyone sees what they do and how beneficial it is. I am on social security and I hope I will be able to afford Discovery Plus. New shows are not on there yet . So dates are wrong.
So tired of show going to streaming services.
No I will not pay extra for Discovery plus. Love the show, but the greed is something else. Seniors can’t afford all the streaming Channing. This is BS,
Love this show. I get great ideas for my own rescue work from this show and fall in love with many of her dogs. I had a pit bull puppy living next door to me and I was terrified of the dog because of all the horrible things I’d heard about them. I knew nothing then. Thank you for changing our awareness and compassion for them. Keep up the good work!
Tia and family deserve National Citations for the heartfelt goodness displayed for man and beast! She is an incredible woman with a selfless soul. May her show successfully continue. With great respect and admiration.
please don’t cancel Pitbulls and Parolees! Let there be a 19th and even a miraculous 20th season!
Tia, because of your show I’m now,at 77 years young, a bit bull lover and I’m an owner of a beautiful gray 1 year old puppy, whom I’ve raised since he was a month old. Add, that your show has made me into a converted dog lover. You’ve taught me so much. I feel that I’ve been blessed through your show. Animal planet is the loser. I’ll find a way to continue watching your show. I’m a fan of Pit Bulls and Paroles as long as I’m breathing.
A/P needs to get back to animals. Don’t need Naked and Afraid or other junk. Really enjoyed Pit Bulls and Dr. Jeff and all the other vet shows. So sorry for the changes.
Yes!
I miss p/p so much. I hope it will be back on soon
We love this program. So happy it’s come back!
I think it’s fair to say, animal planet might play a few old reruns of good shows featuring animals but they no longer host new shows with animals. This started chipping away at their themed line up way back when that Tree House show took over good time slots. Then all the Law shoes over and over, Maine, TX La, NH. Same exact scenarios, just different states. Pit bulls and Jeffs show was all that’s left and I’m sure Rocky Mt Vet will be gone as well in a year or two. Naked and Afraid? What a bunch of cr$p.… Read more »

I’m 76 year’s old and in poor health had I of known about Tia year’s ago I’d have been donating my time to her and her beautiful dogs!
Thank You Ms Tia for all you do!!!
