What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, the Prodigal Son TV series stars Tom Payne, Lou Diamond Phillips, Aurora Perrineau, Frank Harts, Keiko Agena, Bellamy Young, Halston Sage, Michael Sheen, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Season two guest stars include Christian Borle and Michael Potts. In the story, Malcolm Bright (Payne) is an extraordinary criminal psychologist who knows how killers think and how their minds work. In the 1990s, his father, Dr. Martin Whitly (Sheen), was a notorious serial killer called “The Surgeon” who killed at least 23 people. Since murder is “the family business”, Malcolm uses his twisted genius for good, to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers. He works alongside his longtime mentor, Gil Arroyo (Phillips), and two detectives — no-nonsense Dani Powell (Perrineau) and JT Tarmel (Harts), a born-and-bred New Yorker who questions whether Bright is a psychopath himself. In season two, Malcolm must deal with the repercussions of the first season finale and his father seeks to deepen his relationship with his prodigal son.
Season Two Ratings

I love Prodical Son. My daughter and I watch it together even though we live in 2 different places. It’s a real shame that they cancelled it.
Yet another one of my favorite shows cancelled. How does Fox count the number of viewers? There are numerous ways to watch a show. A sitcom will probably take its place. Seems like whenever a show is out of the norm it is cancelled.
I love Prodigal Son and I am very upset that it is being cancelled. I believe that viewership may have gone down because they kept it from airing every week. It took too long between shows. Maybe you should consider that before canceling the series.

Great show always interesting fast moving lots of content in the hour long format.. there are no 20 second shots of people silently walking down a hall, or staring at central park each episode is filled to the brim with allocution and action. Great writing acting cinematography and entertainment..PLEASE RENEW

We love Prodigal Son! It’s so awful that all these great shows are being cancelled because no one has cable anymore. Hopefully Netflix, Amazon or Hulu will pick it up. Another great show was Beauty and the Baker. Sooo romantic! Help Netflix!
