In its first year, Prodigal Son did okay in the ratings but the show wasn’t exactly a big hit. Will the numbers improve in season two, now that more people have had a chance to catch up on the first year’s episodes? Will Prodigal Son be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
A crime thriller series, the Prodigal Son TV show stars Tom Payne, Lou Diamond Phillips, Aurora Perrineau, Frank Harts, Keiko Agena, Bellamy Young, Halston Sage, Michael Sheen, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Season two guest stars include Christian Borle and Michael Potts. In the story, Malcolm Bright (Payne) is an extraordinary criminal psychologist who knows how killers think and how their minds work. In the 1990s, his father, Dr. Martin Whitly (Sheen), was a notorious serial killer called “The Surgeon” who killed at least 23 people. Since murder is “the family business”, Malcolm uses his twisted genius for good, to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers. He works alongside his longtime mentor, Gil Arroyo (Phillips), and two detectives — no-nonsense Dani Powell (Perrineau) and JT Tarmel (Harts), a born-and-bred New Yorker who questions whether Bright is a psychopath himself. In season two, Malcolm must deal with the repercussions of the first season finale and his father seeks to deepen his relationship with his prodigal son.

What do you think? Do you like the Prodigal Son TV series on FOX? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
I liked the show. Not anymore. Writers decided to go full PC Woke. Too bad. Loved Sheen. Bye.
True, loved the first season. The PC woke is on every show at least one episode this season and their respective ratings drop the next week… but they have made it a continuous story line here and a bizarre one where black police are treated like it’s the 1950s by white police. Police are a brotherhood for goodness sake!
Changing the narrative to only white cops are the problem is pretty much as evil as a serial killer.
Please boost ratings so good this season so far love it hopefully get more people.
so good look forward every episode worth watching love it. i can’t wait to watch it more people boost ratings.
This show is brilliant, disturbing and hilarious all in the best ways!! The progression of Malcolm is genius and giving this show the time for a proper arch of this character demands another season!
I was on the fence for the last few episodes of the first season — I found the sister and mother characters to be too annoying. Bellamy Young’s singing in the first episode pushed me off that fence. Too bad — I would have been curious to see Jones’ work, but the price for that is too high. Bye-bye.
This show is amazing!!!!! I’m in the over 65 category. Try using same advertising strategy as when premiering. It’s awesome!
Renew! I love the show
